Services
Serving Colorado Springs families since 1911, Sunny Vista was founded as a tuberculosis sanitorium but soon after adapted to meet the growing needs of older adults. The Retreat partners with The Villa at Sunny Vista, a community with 50 independent living apartment homes accessible to low-income and disabled seniors, as well as The Living Center at Sunny Vista, providing 116 suites with skilled nursing and rehabilitation services.

My mother has been a resident of the Retreat for almost a year.
I have nothing but good to say. From the front desk (Nikki and Jalyn)
to the staff (Michael, Cooper, Sarah, Chyenne, Sheri) and the office
(Alma, Michelle, and Thasha)
They are always available and very helpful. They have taken great
of Mom. Even with Covid and all that has happened with that,
they are always quick to reach out with concerns and respond
to me every time. The food has been very good, and they always
know when she does not attend and make sure that a meal is
delivered to her room.

If you want to be surrounded with hard working people, a management team that takes action and a care team who love their residents then The Retreat is just for you! We have survived through a world pandemic and come out stronger for it. We understand that through perseverance and caring for others we become our best self's. I have had the privilege of working for this community for three years and see myself being here for many more years to come.

My experience with the staff here have been troublesome, they do not take responsibility for there actions and piddle around things that need to be taken care of. They act to busy to help and have aggressively insulted me for wanting things done right. These are family members lives in your care, and the staff here act like children. If you value your money and family members, do not come here. The founders or owners will be receiving a detailed letter and names of staff who have be unprofessional.

This place don’t care about you or your family members, The HWD Sarah hire people from the street with no experiences. She hires 16,17,18 year olds that never did this before at all and having staff doing what they want to do. The staff are being disrespectful to residents and family members! In Memory support, it’s so dirty there’s a lot of bugs and the floor is nasty like it’s not being cleaned. The staff is cross contamination by not changing there gloves going from patient to patient. The staff don’t care about how the residents look! The staff is are not educated on proper care.

Whoever is in charge of meds will raise your loved ones blood pressure medication and make them an easy to handle vegetable. They also don't notify surgeons who are in charge of referring a patient to be there when they get an infection. The day to day staff are nice people but overall the quality of medical care is horrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who cares about their loved ones. Would be better off to take care of them yourselves

I am an employee at The Retreat at Sunny Vista so I know I am a bit biased but I have worked at a few Senior Living Communities during my long career and truly feel this campus is one of the very best! The team from the CEO to the leadership team, to the housekeepers, culinary team and the care partners are all VERY dedicated to the service of our residents. I have seen so many examples of staff going above and beyond to make sure the residents feel SAFE and loved! I am honored to work here and plan on being here for a LONG time! I recently moved Mom from another memory care facility to The Retreat at Sunny Vista. I was impressed with this facility right away. The building is clean and beautifully decorated. The management seeks feedback and addresses issues to continuously improve service. The care team members who utilize the portable technology system know the specific care to provide to residents throughout the day. Residents are able to independently visit different areas of the facility while still being seen and electronically monitored by staff. Mom is now much calmer, engaged, and happy. I would like to give recognition
