Our Portland family dental practice is devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures that will result in beautiful, long lasting smiles! This family dental practice was established 70 years ago-in 1951-by Dr. Bryant 'Alf' Alder in the medical/Dental Building in downtown Portland. After a few years he made a bold move to NE 20th and Sandy (across from Jantzen Woolen Mills), one of the first dental practices outside of downtown Portland.
Dr. Jerem J. Mitchell grew up in the Beaverton, Oregon area and graduated from Sunset High School. Dr. Mitchell completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University where he met his wife Amy. Following graduation, Dr. Mitchell pursued his dental degree from Oregon Health and Sciences University where he graduated with honors.
Almost always you can use your insurance to go to any dental office you choose. Some insurance companies have signed up certain dentists willing to accept lower fees in exchange for steering you to those dental offices. They induce people to use those dentists by reducing deductibles or patient payments there.
Because businesses use coupons to get their customers in more frequently so they can sell them additional goods and services. That's good for their business, but you don't want your dental office playing that game. Our philosophy of ethical dental care is to recommend just what you need for optimum dental health--no more, no less.

I've been a patient of Drs. Alder and Mitchell for most of my 40 years here in Oregon. I've always received top-notch care from the dentists and the various hygienists. They inform me of areas of concern and how I can best manage them, yet don't push me into unnecessary treatments. The decision is always mine, but they arm me with the best data to make those decisions. I feel fortunate that I found a dental facility that I have been willing to retain for such a long time.

I have been a patient of Dr. Alder for over 25 years. I have always had wonderful results on any procedures I have need ed over the years. I have always been impressed how honest they have been with me on whatever needed to be done. Dr Alder has always impressed me with his professionalism, kindness, and good work. I have never had a bad outcome on any of my procedures that he performed. He also has a very friendly staff!

From the moment I arrive to the completion of my visits to Alder Mitchell Family Dental, it is nothing less than delightful and luxurious. Who would have thought it's fun to go to the Dentist?
