Commerce Veterinary Hospital, Inc. was established in 1954 by Dr S.J. Shirley as a large animal ambulatory practice for treating cows and horses for many of the local farmers. Over time, it evolved into one of the largest small animal practices in Northeast Georgia. With an exceptional staff, Commerce Veterinary Hospital provides routine, surgical and preventative care to Commerce and the surrounding communities.
Here at Commerce Veterinary Hospital, we always welcome new clients and patients to our full service veterinary practice. We know you will be very happy with our services. Our veterinarians and staff are devoted to staying on top of the latest diagnostics, treatments, and wellness programs to maintain your pet's optimal health.
As a new client at Commerce Veterinary hospital, you can expect our full attention to your pet's needs. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet. In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card. 3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
Our clinic is conveniently located in the middle of downtown Commerce, and just minutes from I-85. We have been at our present location since August of 2000. You can easily find convenient parking in our parking lot, along with easy handicap accessibility. We have a large lobby complete with a waterfall and pond, an aviary for our Finches, and a children's corner for the little ones.

Took a very sick puppy up there. They couldn't tell me what was wrong with him. Charged me almost 2 hundred dollars and told me my pup was gonna die. But they were nice enough to tell me to bring his body up there, so they could examine it. A week later i MYSELF saved my own dog. I won't be taking any of my pets back there. The wait time was insane, was late for work and the vet was rude! Here's my little guy back to 100% health. With zero help of the commerce vet!! So much for him not making it through the night huh?? A refund would be fantastic for the money I wasted there to be told hed be dead

This is the most amazing vet we have ever been to. They took the time to teach us about canine diabetes and how to care for our dog, Sienna. They really got to know us and our girls. They went above and beyond all expectations including their prices. Our dogs are members of our family (not pets) and I that's exactly how they are treated by this vet. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
