A branch of the VA, the Veterans Benefits Administration, offers monthly payments to vets who do not have a disability that is a result from their service. To qualify for aide and attendance, the veteran must have 90 days of active duty, with one day during wartime, and an honorable discharge. There must also be a medical condition that prevents the vet from doing daily living tasks.
Caregivers and Home Health Aides are caretakers for our clients that specialize in "non-skilled" care. This position is great for individuals that are new to the health care field as well as those who are more experienced. Caregivers are responsible for aiding our clients with day-to-day activities such as including cooking, cleaning, and companionship.
For over 30 years Matt & Beth have been the caregivers for their handicapped son. They've had to deal with companies that provided caregivers & nurses that were unreliable and unskilled. That's why they created Great Lakes Home Care Unlimited 10 years ago. They knew others deserved better care and to be treated like family.

The team at GLHCU stepped in when my parents needed 24/7 care in a somewhat remote area in Mid-Michigan. The workers are friendly, reliable, and caring. Our family appreciated their honesty and flexibility to meet our needs.

I am currently a 100 percent disabled veteran, widow, and mother of 4 children. I currently had a cervical surgery at UofM they took out pieces 3 through 7 and put cages plates and screws. I also have thoracic bsck injury, lower back injury and waiting on those surgeries. This home health care place has not taken very good care of me. They always call in or just don't show up. After I got home from bring in the hospital for 8 days at UofM thry called in 3 times already and I was without care. Some aides or health care helpers are lazy, always om their phones, or sitting watching t.v. im very disappointed

It's been a big relief having the support of the staff helping with my mother. It gives me piece of mind knowing someone is there and helping Mom stay home safe and independent. The office staff is wonderful as well and make sure to keep me informed if there is a change or just calling to see how things are going. Thank you so much for your help. God Bless
