General and Roofing Contractors is a family owned and operated business incorporated since 1996 and based in Tampa Bay Florida. We are a state certified general contractor and roofing contractor company in which the owner has 25 plus years in construction and roofing experience though out the state of Florida.
Existing roofing systems presented a common problem - they required ongoing maintenance and continual expense, with no long-term solution in sight. Our Founder, John R. Burt, used his experience in fabricating pool liners to develop a remarkable new roofing membrane. Two years of additional testing resulted in the proprietary membrane formula still in use today.
Are rusted roof decks and leaky seams starting to compromise your building's watertight integrity? The Duro-Shield roofing system is the long-term way to protect your building against rain, temperature changes, interior drips, ice build-up, and rust and corrosion. The Duro-Shield single-ply membrane is prefabricated in our factory; custom designed to fit your metal roof exactly, eliminating up to 80-85% of rooftop installation labor.
Duro-Guard ISO and EPS Insulation panels are available in a variety of products for use with Duro-Last Roofing Systems, providing high Long-Term Thermal Resistance (LTTR) values. Duro-Guard insulation panels contain no CFCs or HCFCs; have Zero Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP); are EPA compliant; and have virtually no Global Warming Potential (GWP).
Every Duro-Last roofing system is precision-fabricated to fit even the most complicated, uniquely-shaped rooftops. Every Duro-Last system is delivered to the job site with all components included and up to 85% of membrane seaming completed in our factory. Also, custom fabricated parapets, and stack and curb flashings eliminate the majority of labor from the most critical roof areas - transitions and changes of plane.
