Recently the people in the city of Madison and reputable locksmiths in the area have fallen victim to a group of untrustworthy locksmiths who are taking advantage of locked out customers in a bind. This is not happening only in Madison, but all over the country leaving customers wondering if the locksmith they are about to call is real and reputable or an imposter ready to take advantage of them in a desperate situation.

Bill did a great job! He's very professional, neat, efficient, and friendly. We had three locks, each with different issues. He was able to fix them all and explained what was happening and why we were having issues. We will definitely call on him again. Locks should last a lifetime and if you're having trouble don't wait to get it repaired. It's probably a quick fix but if you wait too long it can break the lock and require replacement - which is more costly.

A problematic dead bolt on my house broke and my key just spins around doing nothing. Called The Lock Doc the next day and over the phone Bill was able to describe exactly what my problem was. He came within 90 minutes and not only replaced that lock with a superior option, I had him replace all five locks on my house. They all turn like 'knives through butter'. He knows his stuff, makes excellent recommendations and does fine work. And a more pleasant and patient man would be hard to find. I will not hesitate to call him for any lock issues I may have.

I called Bill to rekey and possibly replace a hodgepodge of locks in my brand new, 100 year old house. He clearly quoted prices as we went over options over the phone. On the job, he patiently described the state of our locks and went over his expert recommendations and various options with prices. We ended up going with easiest/least amount of work in order to preserve the original hardware and Bill was never pushy about doing anything more. He even gave me some recommendations on how to fix an old wonky door. He was punctual, friendly, and professional, and I'd recommend him for anyone needing

We called Bill the day we moved and he understood our concern to be in our home without getting the locks changed, so he fit us into his schedule that same day. He informed us of our options, shared his thoughts for all four of our exterior doors, and made recommendations for hardware to match the finishes in our home. 10/10 would use Bill's services again and I recommend to anyone locking for a reliable, professional, knowledgeable locksmith.

Had two wonderful experiences with Bill. The quality of his work is excellent—he installed and re-keyed 3 deadbolts, installed 3 high-security strike plates, installed 2 doorknobs, adjusted 2 bathroom doors so they would latch, and disabled 2 knobs that could have locked me out. All this work cost $375, including the locks and knobs. More valuable, though, was his expertise: he helped me understand how to make smart decisions about lock and knob styles, walked me through how most robberies in the Madison area happen, and advised me on low-cost ways to increase security. Can't recommend him enough
