Tyler moved to San Luis Obispo, CA to attend Cal Poly, where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology with minors in Dance and Psychology.

An hour long, personalized class in the dancer's style of choice taught by one of our professional instructors. 2 tables for food/drink/dessert, plus two cabinets to be used as gift table + goodie bag table.
We offer both of our state of the art spaces at an affordable hourly rate. Please contact us for availability and pricing (inquiries@danceandcompany.net/858.750.3021). Space rental fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable. If space rental is on-going, the cleaning fee will be collected quarterly.

Great dance studio. My daughter started coming here during COVID. It's a great studio that is ran by mother/daughter duo. They offer great schedules for classes, communicate well whenever there's studio closures, and for make up classes. My daughter enjoys coming to the classes as well. The rates are reasonable and location is good. If you're considering they offer trail classes and really work with you to see what's a best fit for your child.

Disappointed that I could not have my toddler do one more makeup class prior to leaving. Unfortunately, they have a policy with regards to no makeups if membership for that month is not paid. Seeing that I had paid at least 4 months worth without going to class due to Covid and did not request for my membership to be put on hold at that time, you would think that they could return the courtesy of letting my daughter do a makeup for a class that she could not attend because it was only being held on zoom. My toddler does not pay any attention to zoom classes, which is why we did not participate

We paid our membership monthly for 4 classes and when we had missed some classes and wanted to put our membership on hold so we can catchup on the classes, we were told that we couldn't do that without the monthly fee. With multiple activities and multiple kids in the family, we weren't able to do the make up class without canceling other multiple activities. Two of the classes that we missed, it was because they were closed. They were the one that cancelled classes and we are not allowed to make up the classes at our convenience. We prepaid for the classes, we should be able to do

I'm very selective when it comes to choosing a dance studio for my daughter since I, myself, was a dancer until college. I knew exactly what I was looking for, and my daughter who will turn four very soon tried four different renown dance studio's toddler ballet classes throughout San Diego (3 in Carmel Valley/ Del Mar area, 1 in La Jolla) until we settled at Dance and Company little over a year ago. I cannot be happier we chose Dance & Company and referred to three of my friends, and they all are satisfied. My daughter loves going to her dance classes and loves her teacher, Ms. Tyler

This studio has been a bad experience for me and my dance troupe. We came there to train, paid fees up front and still we were looked at funny, told they need to put away their apparel because they didn't want it stolen, MICRO MANAGED when we did anything with the time we had there, and to make it all worse we were not able to get a REFUND on the time we PAID for and didn't use. My Dance parents Felt uncomfortable being there that they just dropped their kids off and left. We never felt that way at other studios we have rented at.

The owner, Lisa, isn't a very good host when it

I have very mixed views about this place. Our child was enrolled for ballet classes on Saturday mornings here for almost a good 10 months or so.
First the pros - Friendly staff and owners. The main instructor we had was Ms.Tyler and she is amazing. I also think the classes themselves are reasonably priced.

Now the cons and there are plenty! Firstly the number of kids in each class. I understand they need to make some serious $$$$ here, but at one point our ballet class in the mornings enrolled almost 5 new kids on one day to an already decent sized group! This took away from the attention each

Signed my kid up for acro on Fri at 4:00.
There are like 16 kids in the class! Dang! If I knew it was such a big class for my little Kinder, I would have reconsidered!
Also the first half of the class which is the warm-up - this is one of the most ineffective warm up I've seen! This is the 2nd class so we'll see.

My daughter has been dancing here for two years now, since she was just a few weeks shy of 5. I cannot say enough great things about Katie and Dance & Company.

When my daughter started asking about taking dance classes outside of her preschool after-school classes, I admit that I was very nervous. There are many negative stereotypes associated with dance, dance moms, and body image issues. We decided to give D&C a try based on its proximity to her school and my work.

My fears were totally unfounded! First, Katie sees her girls (and the occasional boy!) as family. Her love for these

I love this place! It is such a family atmosphere...warm and welcoming! Prices are reasonable and the instructors do a great job. They do such a professional job on putting the performance together and it is always such a highlight to watch!

"OK" is about right :-) Plus-side: Owners are knowledgeable about dance; instructors we had were very good; dance space is large enough; classes are not over-crowded in our experience (2 classes only). Minus-side: Owners are tough business people and can come off as such unfortunately; 1/2 the year is devoted to getting dance routines ready for summer performance. Since our own children had other summer plans, it was discouraging for them to keep practicing on 1 routine for 5 months or so for a performance they knew they couldn't be in :-(
Our take-away: take classes where owners

This review is all about renting this studio.

My experience renting this place was absolutely wonderful. It was a last minute call since the previous studio I had called made a mistake in our reservation. Three days before our needed rehearsal day, I called and a receptionist took all my information. Katie, the owner, promptly returned my call and made the reservation. She was very friendly and kept an open line of communication with me throughout the whole time period between when I booked to the day we entered the studio. There were no misunderstandings because she was so thorough. Great customer

We enrolled our daughter at Dance & Company back in Sept. '13 and we have never regretted it. D&C is the first and only dance company we've ever been a part of, as our daughter is our eldest child...we were quite inexperienced parents of a little dancer. Lucky for us, we knew someone (who is also part of the D&C family) who recommended and raved about them. We had to check it out for ourselves... :-)

From the very start, Katie (co-owner and artistic director) has been very friendly, attentive, thoughtful and shows so much interest and investment in our daughter. We feel

Dance and Company hosted a terrific Hip Hop Dance Party for our tween-aged son! We reserved the entire studio (two dance rooms, main lobby, and one bathroom) on a Sunday afternoon. Although the studio provides basic party décor, food (pizza and birthday cake), paper products, and crafts, we elected to bring in supplies (including extra banquet tables for food and a card table for cupcakes - chairs are provided) and to have longer dance time instead of crafts. The studio's flexibility really helped ease the party planning. The smaller room was designated for food and mingling, while the

My 3 year old daughter is a student at Dance & Co. She is currently enrolled in the Toddler combo class on Thursday. We went to see what the school was like on a Saturday and it was extremely busy (but in a good way). Upon arrival, I was greeted by Lisa (the owner) and she was very warm and welcoming. I felt completely at ease with making the decision that this would be the school for my daughter.

Anyway, she immediately fell in love with it and so we decided to have her attend the Thursday session going forward. The class size is smaller and I love it. The instructor, Miss Amy, is absolutely

Very helpful staff! I have only taken 1 class there but am very happy with the customer service as well as the ballet teacher for adult beginning ballet. If you are looking for a studio that is friendly and affordable, then come to this one. I took a class recently with San Diego School of Ballet and feel like Dance & Company is more affordable and the class size is smaller- which means you will get more individualized corrections from the instructor. I find that in some other studios, the instructor and students talk a lot about non-dance related things and it is a pet peeve of mine. At Dance
