Majesty in Motion (MIM) is a salsa dance company dedicated to high-energy performance, a jazzy style, and precise musicality. Founded in 2002 by David and Jennifer Stein, MIM has become the largest Salsa company in San Diego. Since MIM's inception almost 16 years ago, we have grown from one team to now ten teams including five partner salsa teams, two ladies teams, and three Bachata teams.
MIM's directors and teams have traveled all over the world, performing and teaching in Bermuda, Japan, Canada, England, Sweden, and across the United States in Washington, Texas, New York, Massachusetts, Arizona, Florida, and Oregon. Their commitment and dedication to the salsa community has been recognized and awarded by the late Albert Torres, the world's premier producer of live salsa music and dance events.

Services
During class, rows will rotate to give everyone the opportunity to have a closer view to the mirror and instructor. Personal yoga mats are encouraged for classes with floor based warm ups/drills, classes such as body movement or stretching. No FOOD or outside drinks will be allowed in the studio (coffee, soda, juice, etc.) except for water.
At Majesty in Motion we believe in creating community, respect, empathy, and confidence in each student. Our mission is to teach not only the fundamentals and techniques of latin dance styles but educate our youth on culture and how working and creating with others can be transferred to life skills.

Great studio to learn how to dance salsa, bachata, cha cha cha. Instructors are fun and engaging. Classes are available every day with lots of options to choose from. They also organize lots of fun social dancing events around San Diego where you can practice the moves you learnt in class and see people you have already danced with in the studio.

Being a beginner in any hobby can be intimidating and having two left feet definitely can add to that stress. After finding Majesty in Motion, I decided to take the plunge and purchase a 4 pack to see if I would enjoy it, and I am so grateful I did!
They are extremely welcoming to everyone, fun/relatively easy to follow, and provided a comfortable environment for us to dance in. Everyone is so kind and allowed someone such as myself, who is nervous and stiff as a board, to be comfortable in my shoes. I look forward to taking more classes!

I have been coming here on and off since October 2020 and I absolutely love it. I look forward to coming here especially after a stressful day of work. This dance school is the best in the whole county .
David and his wife are absolutely lovely people and even though they have struggled to stay open through this past year, they are always very positive ,passionate, and are truly amazing at teaching all the steps .
They have a variety of classes which is great especially if you are brand new to Latin dances so you can try all the styles.

Never been to a Salsa or Bachata class before. Decided to take the beginners Salsa class they offered Monday evenings. The instructor David was the perfect mix of professional and fun to make the learning process smooth and enjoyable.

Dancing with Majesty will change your life! The owners and staff are all talented, professional, and fun. You can tell they are truly passionate about music, dance, and helping their students grow. This is the BEST salsa studio in all of San Diego to learn to dance! David Stein and his wife Jennifer teach in clear, effective ways that make learning approachable for beginners, but also still offer the extra details and classes for more experienced dancers.

I went to Majesty a while back and found that some of the teachers just did their own thing, going on to more advanced steps without seeing if their students are catching on. Salsa 1 an 2 moved at a very fast pase and the owner seems to focus on his performance groups without listening to his new and beginning students.

This dance studio is the best in the county. I have tried other studios but this one is the best hands down. Talented and patient dance instructors. Great music selections - some current selections and some classics! The beginners classes are great for new dancers. The intermediate and advanced classes will challenge you to another level. You will work out while having fun. They focus on technique and on styling (not twerking nonsense). If you love latin dance and music and want ro learn real salsa, mambo, bachata, this is the place for you! Highly recommend.

I started classes here after a date took me salsa dancing one nite. The studio is amazing. Jennifer and David, the owners, really truly care about all of their students and they take the time and energy to make everybody feel welcome, and to teach them all of the moves that they need to be a successful dancer. The energy at this amazing dance studio is through the roof! The instructors are all top notch, and they welcome everyone from professionals to beginners and everyone in between. This dance studio is a well-deserved 5-star rating in my book. I've been coming to this studio for about a year now when I wanted a hobby after graduating college. My salsa dancing definitely improved with the help of all the skillful instructors. I'm not a good dancer, but I'm trying to learn to Salsa. My wife and I have been to Salsa nights at places around town where David, owner of Majesty in Motion, led the class, and liked him. We decided to do the 3 hour beginner bootcamp and it was so fun. David is just an incredible instructor. He dances like he's walking on air, but he does such a good job of making everything understandable. And he's so funny! What a great time. Go alone or with your mate, even if you've never danced salsa before. You will have a blast, and you'll learn a bunch!

Out of an hour long class they frequently spend 40 minutes on solo work. During this time the only instruction is watching the instructor dance in the front of the room. If you do not get what the instructor is doing you will not be corrected or have an opportunity to ask a question. For my Birthday my Husband gave me the best gift ever and took me to this studio to improve my Salsa skills. Was I thrilled? I was and extremely happy for his choice. The Studio is located in the second floor and very clean. From the Restrooms to the floors. I was very impressed with the location and how clean this place is. Parking? We always able to find parking with no problem. Now, let me address the Instructors. They are very good. So far we had taken most of the classes from Salsa to Hip Hop. I always feel welcome there. You'll come across talent in most cities in this industry, but the quality of instruction at this studio is legitimate pro-level coaching. I opted for private lessons for the obvious reason that you get one on one advice, tailored towards your level of experience. For me, it was my first time ever receiving lessons.
