Each class is limited to 10 students maximum and we have implemented the following Health Guidelines to ensure your health and safety during studio classes.
Private dance lessons are absolutely the easiest, fastest, and most effective way to learn to dance. With private lessons, you can achieve your dancing goals quickly and easily. The personal attention you receive from one-on-one private dance lessons is equal to three or four hours of class instruction.

With our wedding just 6 weeks out, it was about time to start practicing for our first dance. But after a frustrating weekend of applying basic waltz steps to our song, we realized we were way out of our league trying to learn how to waltz by ourselves. My wife and I took lessons with Rene prior to our wedding and we couldn't be happier! Rene made us feel comfortable while customizing a routine and helping us look good for our big day. His pointers were terrific and we came a really long way from our first lesson to the last.
The website is easy to use and we had no issues booking or changing lesson dates. The studio is spacious and has lots of mirrors, which comes in handy when you're trying to learn. Parking was a breeze (small lot in back + free meter evenings and Sundays). I might come back for some group classes now!

If I could give By your side and Rene 1000 stars I would! My fiancé and I took two lessons here for our wedding. We came In with zero dance knowledge or background and we were bumbling idiots. Rene was so patient with us and made us feel so comfortable. He recorded us so we could watch at home and practice. I would have never though that just after two sessions we would be where we are at and feeling good about out first dance!

I walked in with two left feet (which wasn't easy) and already I'm beginning to look like a Pro. Move over Fred Astaire !

Rene is amazing! The moment we met him for our first private dance lesson we knew we were at the right place for wedding dance choreography and lessons. He put us at ease immediately despite our having little to no background in dance, and he kept us laughing while instructing us through basic ballroom steps and techniques and customizing moves for our chosen music.

Rene had my wife and I ready for our big wedding dance in just two sessions! Neither of us have much experience in ballroom dance, but he walked us through the steps and taught us a neat lift to cap it all off. I love this studio and all the instructors. I started ballroom 4 years ago and have added salsa, hustle, WCS and hula since starting. The energy is great. Very friendly and welcoming. The instructors are so good and very patient. And there is a nice variety of classes for every taste. I've made some wonderfull friends here too. I encourage anyone to check it out. We used By Your Side Dance Studio in anticipation of our wedding first dance. Neither my now husband or I are dancers so we knew we didn't want a full choreographed dance, but we can't some steps and an entrance and ending so we looked coordinated during our first dance. Laura Canellias was our dance instructor and she was phenomenal. She made the two sessions we had with her so enjoyable and comfortable. She even went as far as to edit down our song choice so it wasn't so long.

Guillermo helped my now husband and I so much in creating a last-minute dance routine for our wedding recently! We booked for one hour session and they met with us that same day. It helped us tremendously.
I have a small dance background, but my now husband does not. He never has danced in his life and was nervous about doing a first dance in front of his family and our friends (we lowered our wedding from 70 people down to 11 and he was still super nervous).

He helped develop a custom dance for us that fit our style, comfort level.. even down to the outfits/shoes we were wearing for the big day. We cannot say enough great things about this dance studio! We (my fiancé and I) came here to prepare for our wedding. Renee (our instructor) put together the choreography & guided us every step of the way. He is extremely patient, funny, and knows what he is doing! We had the most amazing experience learning our wedding dance here. It has been one of the best experiences about preparing for the wedding and has definitely brought my fiancé and I closer together. I hear all the teachers are great - but we specifically learned from Jane and were thrilled by how she turned two clumsy people into competent dancers. Don't think twice. This is the place. Jane is amazing.

I have been taking tap, salsa and hustle since January of 2016. It has been a blast. All the instructors are extremely professional, knowledgeable, super funny and friendly and patient. Oh my sooooo patient. I love coming to the studio. Everyone gets 5 gold stars out of 5 gold stars. I highly recommend the experience.

Laura at by your side choreographed our first dance for our recent wedding and we couldn't have been more thrilled with the final result. I am a former professional dancer and my husband, although not shy on the dance floor, certainly has had no formal training whatsoever prior to our lessons together. What a treat this was to work with Laura both having her create the choreography on us and then to nurture us through to the big day. While we were initially reticent to do more than one or two lessons, we quickly realized we needed more like 5 or 6. The process was just as much fun as the final

Loved this experience! I planned my first dance for my wedding using Guillermo and my husband and I had a wonderful experience! He even went so far as to do a groomsman dance for my husband and his friends and they had such a wonderful time doing it!I we highly recommend the studio for your wedding needs! I also know that they have group dance lessons with salsa and Ballroom and other dance types. We are looking forward to trying that in the future as well!

Deborah's Sunday evening Salsa 2 is my get-down! She breaks down the men's steps, then the women's steps, and then partners us together. There is always a surplus of men (after all, it's partner dancing!) ..unlike other studios where there are 8 women and 4 men (you're basically teaching yourself the choreo..no bueno!) haha.
If there aren't enough men, she has the women lead. Pretty cool. Deborah gives critiques without criticizing your dancing, which, is an art form in itself.
I can see why she is so successful!
For newbies like me, this class builds confidence.

Warning to first timers! Go at beginning of month or not at all.
I wanted a fun date night, looked at the schedule online and found a level 1 class today (the 30th) and emailed a few days ago to see if I could reserve a spot. No response. Then I called this morning and said I wanted to come to this class with my BF, both first-timers. They said no problem to drop in, see you soon. Drove all the way from downtown (in rush hour) only to be told the class has been meeting since the first of the month and reallllly strongly suggesting we wait til next month.
The lady was perfectly sweet about it

My boyfriend and I have been trying to find good Argentine Tango lessons around the bay area, and we finally found Arthur. We've taken a couple of private lessons so far and have improved drastically... He tailored the lessons to our specific needs, and we are very pleased with his instruction. During our wedding planning, we had naively selected a popular Italian song for our first dance that was a mix of pop & opera not realizing how challenging it would be to dance to. We came to "By Your Side Dance Studio" and met Rene who was friendly, immediately set us at ease and got us excited to begin our first lesson.

We hired Guillermo to teach our daughter's court of honor (16 people) a few dances including waltz and hip hop and he was awesome. He had a lot of patience to work with a group of 11-30 year olds. He was firm but also made it very enjoyable.

Decided to take my husband here to try something new, this is the first dance studio we have ever been to and the experience was so welcoming. We were quite nervous coming here being that we're complete newbies to the type of dance we chose, but Rene at the front made us feel really welcomed!
