Dr. Todd Fruit began his practice on Wilmington Island in 1987. From the very beginning his style of practice was less volume-oriented and more focused on individual patient care. This 'patient- centered' style of practice was a perfect fit as Dr. Fruit's passion began to move towards cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
This also allowed him to have more time to develop relationships with his patients, giving the practice a more relaxed and laid back feeling. Dr. Fruit is a 'one chair' dentist. We do not double book our schedule -we see one patient at a time. We take the time to listen to our patient's dental concerns and then 'co-develop' a treatment plan based on what they need and what they want.

Sheila has practiced with Dr. Fruit since 1989. She graduated from Armstrong Atlantic University with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene.
From routine cleanings and fillings to bruxism devices, Todd W. Fruit, D.M.D. is equipped to handle all your dental needs. Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth.Implants are synthetic structures that are placed in the area of the tooth normally occupied by the root.

A computer controlled anesthesia system that eliminates the dreaded syringe. We know that some patients get more nervous than others at the mere sight of a needle and syringe. That's why we now use the wand, a small handpiece that looks like a pen. This system allows for a virtually painless delivery of anesthetic in a very comfortable, non-threatening manner.
The typical new patient experience includes all necessary dental x-rays, intra-oral imagery, and a comprehensive examination of teeth and supporting structures, including TMJ evaluation and oral cancer screening. We will review your past medical and dental history as well as review any medications you may be taking.

Hands down the best dentist and dental staff! Dr. Fruit’s dental work is excellent and he uses the best techniques and technology for a pain-free experience. I just had a fall that resulted in a broken front tooth. After I left his office you couldn’t tell which tooth was broken! Perfect color match, no visible line, feels great and as always a pain-free experience! Thank you once again Dr. Fruit and Gina!!
