Shibley Psychology is a private practice founded by Dr. Mariela G. Shibley. Since 2010, we've been focusing on helping those who want to improve their quality of life through increased self-awareness and useful tools with which to overcome life's stressors. We strongly believe that the best therapy is done when the client and therapist have a strong working relationship.
Our clients know that we care about them and are there to help them get through whatever life challenges have come their way. Some of our therapists are also fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Tagalog. We can assist you in finding the path that is right for you.

Services
When beginning individual therapy, we normally spend the first few meetings getting to know you, understanding what's troubling you, and how we can best help. During this time, you will have a chance to form an impression of your therapist and together decide if you are a good fit for each other. Your therapist will then discuss recommendations for treatment and together you will decide on the frequency of your sessions.
Being in a romantic relationship can be very fulfilling yet rather challenging. Improving communication and being able to reflect on both ours and our partner's thoughts and feelings can dramatically strengthen the relationship. At Shibley Psychology, our culturally diverse therapists are trained to help couples through life's challenges in a safe and supportive environment.
Testing and evaluation services can be helpful to increase a client's self-awareness, explore alternative hypotheses, or confirm the therapist's clinical impressions. All testing services can be tailored to meet your individual needs. In general, psychological evaluations consist of a structured interview, test battery administration, scoring, interpretation, and feedback of testing results.
Immigration laws place the burden of proof on the applicant or beneficiary to show psychological distress. This is often aided by a psychological assessment or expert testimony by a mental health professional. Since 2007, we have conducted over 2,000 evaluations for USCIS and Immigration Court.

At Shibley Psychology, we conduct forensic evaluations for State and Federal Courts. The purpose of a forensic assessment is distinct from that of traditional therapeutic assessment, which aims to arrive at a diagnosis and recommendations for treatment. Forensic assessments focus on a specific purpose related to a legal issue.
