Geunjae is a pen name of Dr. Wang Y. Yoo, given by his teacher. Geunjae means a noble man, a warmhearted person, and a good neighbor. He is also a certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Acupuncturist and Herbalist) from NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine).
Acupuncture is an ancient oriental practice used to regulate and restore the balance of the body, to assist and accelerate the healing process. It is based on traditional Oriental Medicine theories; the flow of qi (energy) and xue (blood) through meridians or pathways that cover the body, somewhat like nerves and blood vessels.
This is by far the most frequently asked question! It's understandable, given the experience most of us have had with shots, but acupuncture needles are nothing like hypodermic needles. They are very thin, just a few hairs width, and they are not hollow like hypodermic needles. They are designed to slide through tissue without cutting, so there is usually very little pain during insertion.

I came here for my lower back/pelvic pain. After 10 acupuncture sessions, he didn't really know what he was doing and couldn't even properly diagnose me. During my last (10th) session, he irritated my nerves and I suffered with neuropathy all over my body. I had to go to the ER and visit neurologists and in the process suffered with depression. I went back to the clinic to let him know what happened and he was in denial and was arrogant about it. His wife rubbed it off as "it's all in your head".

Dr. Yoo is amazing!! He fixed my arm which has been hurting for seven months from a shingle shot. After my first session, my arm felt better and continued to improve. He is also working my eye sight. He is an overall health improvement. A family member who recommended Dr. Yoo told me that he helped with to reduce her anxiety. She stoped stress eating!

Came to get acupuncture, and I couldn't be happier! The entire process was informative because he explained in great detail what was going to be done and which ones would work best for my body/ailment. He also made the procedure itself as painless as possible; needles aren't pleasant but he made me feel comfortable throughout the whole appointment.
