Police misconduct includes police brutality and assault, false arrest, malicious prosecution, and illegal search and seizures. Police misconduct is a general term that refers to any wrongful actions taken by police, including police brutality, assault, excessive force, harassment, false or warrantless arrests, malicious prosecution, and illegal search and seizure. In general, police cannot engage in conduct that deprives any person of any of their constitutional rights.
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prescribes it is "an unlawful employment practice for an employer to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin."
