What's your dance background? I attended the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts as a Contemporary Dance Major. From 2009- 2012 I trained in the Cunningham Technique at the Merce Cunningham Studio. During that time I was a member of the Repertory Understudy Group for the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, learning and performing Merce Cunningham's work alongside the main company.
Thanks to the generosity of the Ucross Foundation I've received the extraordinary opportunity to be in residence for five weeks at glorious Ucross, northeastern Wyoming, near Montana, population 25. This road sign is an iconic image of the Foundation's. I did not take this. I'm staying in a small log cabin directly in front of this view!
When an invitation to perform Doodling at the Gdaski Festiwal Taca, in Gdask, a large and beautiful northern port city on the Baltic, came I took it. Here I am on the train to the theater to catch that night's show, having arrived a few hours earlier. The trains were fantastic, each day, throughout the trip.
Read The Second Installment! The adventure begins flying into Key West. Only one 50-lb. The airport's runway, located on the southeast end of the island, is only 4,801 feet. Landings can be abrupt. Ours was! We landed with a thud. This offbeat Welcome message greets the arrivals. A quick cab ride to the other side of the island takes minutes.
