We offer free and confidential child care referrals to families which will assist them in their search for child care services for children birth to twelve years of age. We offer parent education on quality child care indicators and recommend that each child care location is called or visited prior to making a decision.

Services
The State of North Carolina is urging all families who can keep their children at home, with a responsible adult, to do so. Families of children who are homeless, receiving child welfare services, and/or in unstable or unsafe living arrangements.
Referrals are provided to parents and families in an objective listing of legal childcare providers without regard to race, religion, sex, age, national origin, or political affiliation to those who choose to list with our agency.

Trainings for providers are offered on a continuing basis through our office. All required trainings are offered along with trainings of special interest and needs. Calendar for scheduled trainings are in each newsletter, online, or are available in our office. Only Resource Library members may register online or by telephone, unless the training is free for everyone.
The Infant/Toddler Quality Improvement Project was established in 2004 to help improve the quality of care for infants and toddlers. Specialized training and on-site technical assistance to child care providers working with infants and toddlers regarding any and all topics concerning caring for children.
The Parent Referral Specialist is available to assist families in searching for quality child care. Using our data base of licensed and license exempt childcare programs, families will be given a number of child care providers to choose from which meet their individual needs. When seeking quality childcare, a great beginning is to know the QUALITY INDICATORS to look for.
