We are located in Mt. View township - 10 minutes from just about anywhere in Hickory. We are nestled in the valley behind Lowes Grocery Store, safe and secure from busy 127. Your children can be safely dropped off or picked up under our carport area. We have three fenced play areas that include a trike tracks, soft playground for the small children and large outdoor space for older children.
We also use our multipurpose area when there is inclement weather and we can not go outside. Inside our facility, we have five classrooms, from the infants up to our Pre-K classrooms. The infants and the early one's have their own quiet rooms segregated from the rest of the population. The older children are located in the center of the building in our open-concept classrooms with half-height walls.

My friend worked there - an actual employee - and was told by the director to not report the abuse happening to a two year old child who attended there. The director also informed other employees if they spoke to the investigator who worked the case that they would lose their bonuses . The employee quit - per advice of the investigator to avoid trouble that would come from this - and sent the mom pictures and information. The staff member had left marks from her acrylics behind the boys ear and beat him with part of vacuum hose . Don’t send your kids here.

I have two boys one is 19 and one is 3. I have NEVER used a daycare not a babysitter for my oldest child but found I needed to for my second. After all the horror stories I stumbled upon Don and his staff at Footsteps. Leary at first it didn’t take me nor my son long to see how involved and how professional don and his staff are. Communication is great. Any concerns are immediately addressed. My child is treated like he is part of their personal families and even asks for them when he is not in attendance. My son has grown and developed by leaps and bounds. He’s learned his ABCs,123, colors

We love Footsteps!! My daughter enjoys her time here so much. Staff are always kind and friendly, kids learn throughout the day and my daughter always hops in the car full of stories about her day at pickup time.
Indoor classrooms are set up with efficiency in mind, and the indoor play area is fantastic! Separate outdoor play areas with privacy fencing and plenty of toys and equipment to go around.

Our two girls attended Footsteps and were always cared for and loved. They were excited to go each day and made lifelong friends! Don and his staff provided great communication daily about things like activities, mood, diapers and more. And the center is very clean and welcoming. There is a focus on diversity and community at all times!

Footsteps Childcare Center is OUTSTANDING! The staff is always friendly and professional. My son looks forward to going there every day. Also, for the parents whose kids are new to daycare/school, you need not worry, your kids will be safe and secure there (especially post plague). Kids who may be apprehensive always adjust quickly, the staff lovingly reassures them every day. It’s a relief to me as a mother to know that when I drop him off every morning-he will be well taken care of. Mommy approved!

We own a business in Mt. View so when my son and daughter-in-law took new jobs in Hickory we needed to change my grandson learning center closer so I being nana could help out. I first called Footsteps but at the time they were full. So we ended up putting him in another daycare in Mt. View.. Which was a terrible experience for all involved. My grandson was getting in trouble all the time. So I called Don and explained what was going on. After talking to him in depth about everything. He said he may be bored and need to be in a older room. Don invited us to bring him in for a morning to see how

Our family has used Footsteps for childcare since early 2018. In that time we have added another child and they both adore their daycare! Footsteps has navigated Covid without ever closing and with the best interest of all involved at heart. The staff there love my children like their own. I have never had to question the care they receive. Thank you for all you do!!

I had a horrible experience here with my 18m old child!!!!. When at first i went to visit the location they all acted like they loved my child. But once he got there it was a different experience. Kids were crying everywhere runny noses one teacher was in the room ignoring the kids
While she just non challantly walked around not seeing why the kids were crying. So sad i just wanted to comfort all of them . I hated leaving my child there knowing he was probably there with the rest of the kids crying and no one stopping to comfort him.
I ended up taking my child out of there two weeks after signing

I know the importance of finding a good day you can trust and I feel so blessed to have Footsteps Daycare in Mountain View. My foster daughter has been going here for over 8 months now and she absolutely loves it. A lot of days she will cry when I pick her up because she wants to stay. All of the staff, especially Mr. Don, Melissa, Miss Chrisitan and Shannon are extremely friendly and easy to talk to and I have built very good relationships with all of them. These people will love your babies as much as you do and take joy and pride in their jobs and it shows. They have been so helpful talking

My son is 6, he went there from the time he was 18 months until he started kindergarten this past year. My daughter is 3 and has went there since 18 months. I see the negative reviews and I'm honestly confused. The teachers are wonderful, the new director, Melissa, is always happy and helpful and i just love her. The owner, Don, has always been great. And i could never say enough kind words about Ms Christian, she is AMAZING! They always work with me and they're always great at communication. But number one, my kids love it there, love the people, and look forward to going. Makes me a happy mama
