I am a Certified General Appraiser in the same community as John Taft and I can attest he is as honest as the day is long. While Stacy may have a problem with him I would guess that there are two sides to this story. Appraisers have absolutely no motivation to come in "low". Appraisers simply report what they observe and base opinions on research and analysis.
There are incompetent appraisers just as there are incompetent people in every profession. If I needed my home to be appraised I would trust John Taft to do the job correctly.
