Visiting this establishment has been a staple in my family for years. This was my dad's favorite place to eat in Port Lavaca. In fact, on his death bed from cancer when he wouldn't eat ANYTHING, he requested food from here three times in one week and ate it all! They were even kind enough to have it packaged and ready for me right when they opened because I live 30 minutes away!
The owners are fantastic, kind people who care about the community. The staff is bubbly and ready to serve you. There is a full bar and drink specials throughout the week. The food is Southern Texas true comfort food that

I have been here a couple times now. The Longhorn burger is excellent and the staff does a great job and is friendly. As an Aggie, having a little longhorn beef for lunch was an added bonus. I had the chicken fried chicken on my second visit, it was great as well. The gravy could use a little more flavor (pepper), but that is just my personal taste preference, nothing to give a lower rating over, as there is pepper on the table.

If I could have given no stars I would have. My husband wanted a baked potato and the waitress said they were out of them. The so called ribeye steaks that we ordered medium rare were so tough we could not eat them. The rolls were cold. I could have gotten the same onion rings at Sonic. The loaded mashed potatoes were the only thing hot on the plate. The waitress never asked why we were not eating our food.

My boyfriend and I came here since it was the only decent looking place around here. We paid $85 for some low quality steaks. They have some really high prices for some low quality steak. I ordered a medium rare ribeye.
It came out well-done. Mac and cheese straight out the box. One good thing, though, the waitresses were nice.

Cheap drinks nice weight set but the owner is not it's not financially secure with the situation do the fact that my complain about a food allergy which is a very serious illness because I am allergic to… shellfish and I ordered the chicken fried steak with sides of fried okra and french fries will the french fries and the chicken fried steak buffet for like fish so if I was ready to regular fish Facebook I thought you said that I should not even paid for my mail at least got 50% off she gave me the employee discount which is just pretty much tax-free $2 off of an $18 meal. Great little spot in a picturesque street in downtown Port Lavaca.
A wonderful, very "small-town" Texas feel...inside is spacious, unique ambience w/ its distinctive style. And staff is polite and courteous.
Regarding the food:
I ordered the Texas Burger, moderately-priced. Nothing extraordinary but was exactly as advertised.
Regarding the Jack Daniels Pecan Pie - best slice of pie I've ever had, hands-down. I certainly wouldn't recommend it if you're watching your figure though.
It's home-made and simply delightful.
The price caught me off-guard though as it was $6/slice, which is 1/6th
