Dr. Brianna was wonderful! She was professional & caring. Laura on the other hand (staff) assigned to help me with the post exam part of the appointment was to busy watching a series on her laptop to give me the time of day. Laura pointed out what my insurance covered as far as frames, then she strategiclly sat to the far north of the main room with her back towards a small corner space. When I asked her for help in picking out frames for my face shape she said "just pick something round out of the wall towards the entence". UPDATE: I am happy to say that able to report that I went to the other branch and though it wasn't easy or quick, all of the issues were resolved. Due to the extra care from Julie C., the optician manager at Campbell location, i have working glasses!!!

I have had the worst experience here, its 8 weeks later, seven visits and i still dont have a true working pair of lenses. The last lens there became unusable after a year of use and the current lens now i keep going back for them to find out why they dont work. I have had the defective lens replaced and they still arent right

They sell wonderful frames that other stores don't.
But...
I had a pair of glasses that needed new lenses because of a new Rx. I had to go there 6 times until I was finally able to get lenses that I could see with.
I bought a new frame & so far I've had to go there 4 times, the 4th because I received an email saying the glasses were ready when they weren't. I still don't have the glasses.
In both cases they had to re-do the lens even though I told them in advance what they needed to do.
One time I had to wait for 50 minutes.

This is a new optometrist for me. I haven't had an exam in over 2 years due to being new to the area and COVID. The staff is professional and friendly. Even though it seems like it can be busy, they have a good amount of staff and I had a great experience. I'm so glad I found them! I highly recommend Alvernon Optical!

I stopped in yesterday to have two pairs of glasses repaired (one paired simply needed adjusting, the other needed new nose pads). I didn't have to wait and the lady helping me - unfortunately, I didn't get her name - was very nice. I had never been to Alvernon Optical before but I was very pleased. I will go there to get my next glasses!

Had an eye exam bases on a recommendation. During the exam the doctor didn't seem to pay attention to what I had to say, he seemed more interested in talking about his guitar. I had good frames I had previously purchased and had them fill the prescription there, AND THEY BROKE THE FRAMES HAVING THE LENSES REPLACED. I WILL NEVER STEP INTO AN ALVERNON OPTICAL AGAIN IN ALL MY LIFE.

THUMBS DOWN. Terrible staff, zero communication between them. Doctor cut my fitting appointment short because my fitting was taking too long. They forced an eye glasses ($600) when I still didn't have a prescription. The next visit (one week later) I brought the glasses back and they took it back to put in the correct prescription and then they lost my glasses and tried to say they have already given it back to me. I give Alvernon Optical 2 stars because of Dr. David Tetrualt. He does a great job checking my eyes. As for the optical part of getting glasses well that is another story. I had cataract surgery and prescription is way different now and I had to wait until my eyes healed before getting the glasses. I went in had the exam by Dr. Tetrualt and yeah my prescription is way way different. Because I now have Medicare I am able to get the 1st pair of glasses at a discounted price after cataract surgery. I looked around and found a pair I liked. Came to what I thought would be an eye exam. They had me fill out paper work, do a contact lens test and that little air in the eye test. When it came to doing the exam that involved looking thru lenses to recite the letters on the wall part, I was refused service because i didn't know my prescription..... (isn't that why you go to an eye exam?) I was never given a better explanation as to why they needed my old prescription other than "that's how we do it here." I came to this location after a failed attempt to buy glasses at Family Vision Source. I decided to support local after doing some research. This location is rather small but I enjoyed the variety of glasses and sunglasses they had. Of course me being tired on a budget I was sequestered to a little wall display in the corner. I have been a happy patient of Dr. Tetrault since I was a kid - he is probably one of the nicest and most professional doctors I've ever been treated by! He's patient, unassuming, polite, and obviously genuinely cares about the service his patients receive. I haven't received my glasses yet - I just went in for an exam and new frames today. But if they're right, and I am 99.9% sure they will be, I found the best eye doctor in the world in Dr. Tetrault. George, the manager, is also one of the very nicest people I've ever met. Like, really, really nice. To the point that I felt nervous speaking, lest I insult their delicate spirits. Dr. Tetrault was so patient and thorough - I feel like my last prescription was off, but not by much - so he went through some extra steps to determine how much my eyes have changed/how off the Rx was. Been a patient of Dr. Tetrault since 2004. He's compassionate, thorough, and professional. The long term staff are efficient & pleasant, especially the staff members who do the fittings. Good selection of frames. Lots of front door parking. Located in shopping center on corner of Campbell and Glenn. Their only flaw --as with all other Tucson eyeglass stores-- is the lack of contemporary frame styles found on the major online eye frame sellers. However, if you buy online, for a reasonable price they will make sure the Rx is correct & the fit is good. I like this place & the people

I recently broke my rimless glasses during a...er...passionate exploit after an amazing night with my
GF and was left with few options for recourse. I contacted my primary optician to no avail. Luckily a quick google search and phone call brought me here. $8 and 15 minutes later my glasses went from utterly useless to better then new. They've EARNED my business from here on out.

I booked an appointment early (9:20 am) a couple of weeks back since I was looking to get my prescription for both glasses and contacts renewed. The doctor was pleasant and, having told the receptionist that I had to be at school at 10:00, was also super speedy. I even went a little early and they were able to get me started before the scheduled time. I was allowed to use my student insurance, and though the prices were not as low as I wanted (this is the insurance's fault though), they were still pretty reasonable.
