Student Workshops provide an opportunity for students to actively participate in dance and to encourage cooperation and tolerance. Workshops can range from a one-day dance session for a single class to multiple day meetings with several classes. Workshops normally consist of four 45 minute sessions in a day with different classes which introduce students to several folk and ethnic dances from different areas of the world.
The Gypsy Folk Ensemble offers Professional Development training in dance for teachers in California elementary and middle schools as a means to help implement the concept of arts education as part of the school's core curriculum. The Professional Development workshops are two hours in length and are fully interactive sessions.
The Gypsy Folk Ensemble offers an eight-week multi-cultural world dance program designed to provide California state standards based dance education. Its further goals are to encourage active participation in dance, to promote appreciation for cultural diversity, and to use folk dance as a means to stimulate interest in geography and social studies.
