Centennial Recycling, LLC was founded in 2002 by Joe Francis in Centennial, CO, using a spare bedroom as an office and a line of credit on his house as capital. Due to the company's rapid growth, Joe needed additional assistance and his daughter, Lycee Francis, joined the company in 2007.

Without any intention of a career in recycling, Lycee was hired as Centennial's Office Manager in 2007. With Joe as her mentor, Lycee fell in love with the recycling industry and began learning each area of the business.
