The Montessori method is an approach to learning. Dr. Maria Montessori designed specialized materials to teach the child individually. The teaching material is designed to explore the foundations for understanding. The Montessori method has been proven effective through the years because it is as much an attitude about education and children as it is a specific method.

The classroom is designed to provide an environment which is stimulating to both mental and physical growth. Such an atmosphere places at the child's disposal sensorial and didactic materials that complement the child's natural curiosity. As a result, this combination provides the opportunity to form a positive foundation for all future learning.
Services
We provide an ungraded classroom with multi-aged boys and girls in each group. The younger students can observe and learn from the older students and the older children serve as role models and mentors to the younger children. This encourages mutual respect and helpfulness in one another. Our school is in session September to June.

We had a wonderful first year experience at Montessori Children's House. The teachers are wonderful and our son finished the year with improved socialization, behavior, and academics. The music program is impressive with a Spring and Holiday concert.

Both my girls love it and have thrived here. Staff is wonderful with parents. It's a warm home-style environment, with lots of backyard playtime, plus professional music, yoga and other creative exposure for the kids. I'm a fan of the Montessori mind-set for lots of reasons, but I absolutely see my girls as extra organized, independent, and experimental with enduring focus which I attribute to the school routine and environment. I was very happy with the reading and math approach, reinforced with regular one-on-one attention, that helped instill confidence and joy in learning and going to school

My wife and I are very happy with the experience our daughter has had here. She is entering Kindergarten and is able to read at a basic level, knows how to count to 100, draws well, and overall is very well rounded. I am also pleased with the other children that attend as well as their parents. My son will be attending in the upcoming semester and hope his experience here will be as enjoyable for him and us as parents as well.
