CONGRATULATIONS on your decision to begin therapy! Today, you are one step closer to making changes in your life that will lead to new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. My goal is to assist you in discovering your true self and a life worth celebrating. While no one can change difficult situations or experiences of the past, you and I can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges in your life.
By applying complementary therapeutic approaches and techniques, I will help you change long-standing behavior patterns and negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you are just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

Services
I have degrees from VA TECH in Psychology, minoring in Sociology (in 1991) and from Liberty University with a Masters in Counseling in 1996. I was the former Director of Client Services at the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Roanoke and also worked as the Director of Counseling at the Liberty GodParent Home & Family Life Services Adoption Agency in Lynchburg; providing leadership and counseling to adoptive families, birthparents.
I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond. I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clients individual needs to help them attain the growth they seek.
You pick out a single negative detail and dwell on it exclusively so that your vision of all reality becomes darkened, like the drop of ink that discolors the entire beaker of water. You reject positive experiences by insisting they "don't count" for some reason. In this way you can maintain a negative belief that is contradicted by your everyday experiences.
I will file any needed correspondence you need. An AUTHORIZATION TO RELEASE INFORMATION (on website under FORMS) will need to be completed prior to my releasing any information about you to anyone. I will collect fees for correspondence before releasing any documentation. Additionally you will need to pay any balance you have on your account in full.

For a college class about counseling, I had to go to therapy to fulfill class requirements. It did not take me long to notice the way that Dee practiced was not quite up to standard. Each session I went to was started 10-15 minutes late because she ran over with a previous client, this was never acknowledged or apologized for. However, all of my sessions were wrapped up on time or a little bit early. I witnessed Dee hugging clients and walking them out to the parking lot, which goes against the code of ethics. This also made me feel uncomfortable because often times Dee would not even stand up
