At Center City Dermatology, treatment is available for a wide range of dermatological conditions. Acne is an inflammatory disorder of the hair follicle and its associated sebaceous (oil) glands in the skin. Acne typically occurs in adolescence but may persist into adulthood, especially in women. The face is most commonly affected, but the back, chest, neck, and shoulders may also be involved.

I have been going to CCD for about 3 years now and my last few experiences have not been positive. I will not be returning.
1. Pre-pandemic, I had a small procedure done by Dr. Hess. He did a fantastic job and I was scheduled to have my stitches removed in March. Once the pandemic hit, I was called by their receptionist stating that all appointments were cancelled and that I should "have my wife remove the stitches for me". I was floored that they wouldn't follow up with me after a procedure and make sure I was receiving the care that I should be.
Luckily, I have Doctors in my family who guided

Highly recommend! I’ve been a patient here for the past three years, primarily for skin cancer checks, but occasionally other skin issues, too. I see Dr. Hess every time - he’s very thorough and knowledgable. I had basal cell cancer removed at age 30, so I take my skin super seriously, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I visited the Center City Dermatology office located in Downingtown Pennsylvania not sure what to expect. I have never been to Dermatologist before but after my visit at this location I will soon be back the kind and helpful staff work really hard to give a quality service. I had the pleasure of having Bernadette who had an abundance of knowledge of skin care from do’s and don’t to product suggestions that would better fit my skin type. Overall very pleased with my visit already booked my next appointment!

I’ve been going to dermatologist ever since I was a teenager because of my acne. I still suffer from adult acne and every dermatologist I went to tried pushing me to get on accutane, which can have some significant side effects, so I was very hesitant. I made an appointment with Dr. Hess as a final attempt to see if maybe he could help find a… better solution to my oily skin and acne. Dr. Hess never even mentioned accutane as a treatment option (thankfully), and the 2 pills and topical ointments he prescribed pretty much cleared my skin up in a few days. I had two tiny pre-cancerous freckles removed by Dr. Hess in late December/ early January. The first visit was fine (despite Dr. Hess’s somewhat abrupt bedside manner), but the second time things were… different. I was left on the table for a long time after the nurse numbed the area. Dr. Hess entered and left the room extremely agitated, it seems he had been double booked. He proceeded to rip and tug at the skin on my back unceremoniously. Dr . Hess is truly the best out there. He not only has incredible knowledge and expertise in Dermatology, he also has a personality that patients really relate to.
