The team at Hanley Family Dentistry is proud to help the community of Chester, Virginia achieve the smile they have always wanted. We consider ourselves a family dentistry because helping children understand the importance of proper oral hygiene from a young age is incredibly important to us. Preventive dentistry is an essential building block for everyone, and we take pride in instilling that with our patients.
Our patients are the nicest, most interesting people! Each day I hear new stories, learn new things, and laugh with our patients, which makes me look forward to coming into our practice in the morning. My job entails overseeing our scheduling, checking patients in and out, handling our employee paperwork and payroll, tracking our office statistics, and the marketing, too.
Each morning, I wake looking forward to the day ahead of me. Seeing my patients, whether they are established or new, sharing stories and laughter, and working with them toward exceptional oral health, makes my days rewarding. Truly, there are not many professions where, day in and day out, one is allowed to make lasting and positive changes in the lives of others.
Growing up with a father in the dental profession had a major impact on my pursuit of a dental career. Observing his positive interactions with patients everyday sparked a desire to follow in his footsteps. Now that I have joined him at Hanley Family Dentistry I am experiencing these positive interactions on a personal level.
Dentistry is the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions and disorders of the teeth, gums, mouth, and jaw. A dentist is a specialist who works to diagnose, treat, and prevent oral health problems. Dr. Mike Hanley and Dr. Pete Hanley have completed at least eight years of schooling and received DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degrees.

I’m new to the area and had wicked pain under an existing cap. Hanley Family Dentistry welcomed me as a new patient and did an impressive initial examination using tried and true dental procedures as well as using new (to me) technology. Dr Pete Hanley talked me through every aspect of what he was doing and seeing. He made me comfortable as a patient and confident in in his knowledge and development of a good course of action for my problem. Found my new Dentist a very happy!

I had the worst experience ever! It was going to be my first time there , but since I was late they treated me like trash, no apology or nothing !
The worst part was that they said that I wasn’t going to able to book any more future appointments, that I would have to call in on the same day to see if something was available, just for BEING LATE ON THE FIRST DAY!
I had heard excellent experiences from BOTH DENTIST from my sister and nephew, they did mentioned the only downside was the office staff & now I see why!
Never again will I step foot there!

I highly recommend Hanley Family Dentistry. I always feel like family when I go for my visits. The practice has gentle, caring and professional (& fun) doctors and staff who are focused on excellent service and a patient-first environment. I actually enjoy going to the dentist now! The hygienists are so kind and friendly so cleanings are a treat.
