Hand and Arm Therapy's rehabilitation therapists are dedicated solely to rehabilitation of the hand and arm. Since the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, over 541 clients with major limb amputations have been seen in the Military Healthcare System. As a result of the nature and severity of injuries and the prevalence of concomitant injuries seen in this population, amputee care has become a specialized type of rehabilitative care at Walter Reed and Brooke Army Medical Centers.
Services
Each patient will receive individualized, one-on-one evaluation and treatment by a certified hand therapist or CHT/eligible therapist. A certified hand therapist provides a superior level of care. This credential demonstrates that the therapist has experience attained through advanced study and training.
Rehabilitation Treatment will be provided in a supportive, collaborative, healing environment. Your occupational therapy will begin with a thorough evaluation. The information gathered during this process is the basis for creating an individualized, successful treatment program for you.

As your occupational therapist gathers information about your injury, physical status, and personal needs and goals you will work together to achieve the function that is necessary to achieve your rehabilitation goals.Your rehabilitation therapist will educate you and instruct you how to care for your injury/disease.
As medicine has evolved so has our knowledge base about every part and function of the body. The amount of knowledge has required that some medical providers specialize in order to provide the best quality of care for complex diagnoses. Hand surgery and hand therapy fall into that knowledge base. Your hands are a critical part of your livelihood and ability to enjoy life.
In order for your insurance to process your therapy claim, a doctor's prescription is required. You may download a printable prescription form here and take it with you to your physician for referral. The following list includes some of the most common insurance companies that we work with. The list is extensive and changes frequently.
Halloween is fast approaching! As you prepare your tricks and treats, it is important to keep injuries to a minimum so there are no accidents to ruin the family fun. During the pumpkin carving season, palms, fingers and thumbs can be easily cut, making tendons, nerves, arteries and other complex structures easy targets.

Kristin is absolutely the best! We worked with her after our oldest son had a hand injury with a log splitter. She is patient, creative, and practical. I would not hesitate to recommend Hand & Arm Therapy to anyone.

Staff is friendly enough. The way into their parking is super janky though. Once you make it in the other signs will direct where to go, but a sign at the road would be beneficial.
