Have you ever been to a place that's so special, you aren't quite sure if you should tell people about it or not? That's how we feel about Creede. It's a beautiful, quiet, retreat from modern America-a quaint, old mining town, far enough up in the mountains that it almost seems to have escaped the past century.
No chain restaurants, no malls, no stoplights-just a little community, surrounded by the canyons, cliffs, and creeks of the San Juan Mountains. The Creede Hotel is the town's oldest lodging and dining establishment, and it's right in the middle of town, on Creede's picturesque Main Street. The Hotel offers four distinct rooms throughout the summer.

Services
Virtually no one lived in Creede in the late 1880s, but by 1892, the silver mining boom brought the population close to 10,000. Creede was a rowdy mining camp town. As the song goes, "It's day all day in the daytime, and there is no night in Creede." There were nearly a hundred "hotels" at the time, and the Creede Hotel, which was then Zang's Hotel (after its owner), was considered one of the town's finest.
The Creede Hotel is a small inn, with four restored guestrooms in the original historic 1892 building on Creede's Main Street. All of the rooms have a private bathroom. Two of the upstairs guestrooms share a balcony overlooking Main Street. It's the perfect place to people-watch, or to enjoy a quiet cup of morning coffee.
We will have local musicians to entertain you under our tent as available. Local musicians, like Rivertown Folk and John Goss' band, Caldera, will entertain you under our tent most lunchtimes. Contact us to schedule your event, be it a wedding or birthday party, a film showing, a company gathering or meeting, an art exhibit or a live music performance.

Not closed, not sure why they haven't updated this. We had an amazing menu selection and the soups (tomato bisque and carrot coconut) were delicious. They do charge for every little thing (like bread), so I didn't like that.
It's a worthwhile stop if you want a meal that feels more like city faire and not touristy bar food.

Very disappointed. Tourist trap! Overpriced and small portions. We stopped for lunch on a road trip through Colorado. The restaurant seemed inviting and lively. However, we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table and then it took us about 45 minutes to get our food while it was not crowded at all. One dish we ordered sounded so fancy, the basil Pomodoro Linguine- but it was it was spaghetti with Ragu sauce on top for $17- for LUNCH! We had to ask for the basil!
The shrimp scampi was basically thawed shrimp with butter over noodles for $26! The waitress was pleasant but seriously it took way too

The Cabaret at Arp's.
Creed Repertory Theater and Arp's teamed up to present the Cabaret. Dinner and a show.
Arp's has moved to the Creed Hotel. They set up a large reception tent next to the hotel for the Cabaret.
At 5:00 PM checked in we were seated in the tent. We ordered from the regular menu.
As usual the food and beverages were excellent.
At 7:00 PM the Cabaret began. The show featured some of our long time favorites and many excellent new players.
The show was original and very entertaining. It lasted around 50 minutes. The tickets were $20 for the Cabaret portion.
The show was PG13

The new old Arps! The mussels in curry were amazing. Some of the best I've had anywhere. Wishing for a side loaf of crusty bread to soak up the juice. Wife had udon that came with a side of tempura veggies. Tempura was good, not greasy as is often the case. Miso udon was good, but my wife's is better. Great meal, great service.

We came to creede on a fishing trip as a family and ended up eating here 2 nights in a row. It was truly a fantastic experience. The food and service was all really excellent. The flavors were wonderful and everything was prepared right. The beef dishes were wonderful. The trout special is something not to be missed. The wine list was smaller but perfectly balanced for the menu. My family loved it. The patio was a fabulous place to sit and enjoy a bottle of wine and a wonderful dinner. Creede won our hearts...and dinner at Arp's was the perfect compliment to this stunning mountain town. Also

Fabulous food, drink and service. The live music was a very nice touch for the outside dining. We tried chicken tortilla soup, salmon filet, Ceasar's and garden salad, BLT and Grilled cheese and Strawberry rhubarb mojito, holy cow, everything truly was delicious! Homemade dressings probably sent us over the top, though~ (wish they weren't doing service in To-Go boxes, would make for nicer pics)

This place is pretty good. The salmon was the best seafood dish i've ever eaten. However, the prices are ridiculous. It is usually the only place in town open late and we were starving so we had to suffer the hiked up prices. Ratatouille was not good at all, way too much spice. Service was good! Just really depends on what you get :/

This placed absolutely rocked thanksgiving dinner! My family and I will put Arp's on our list of things to be thankful for. The food was inspired, really amazing and in saying that with my wife being a Thanksgiving meal snob! She wanted traditional and got something better!
Our waitress was sweet, kind and attentive. The place looked festive and the town was super fun even though the shops were all closed. We drove about 90 minutes from Pagosa Springs and were not disappointed.
We will brag about this meal in the years to come as we list out favorite Thanksgiving dinners.
Thanks for

Love this place and there one of the only places open during the off-season in Creede. Their drinks are great and the food is really tasty. You get a really strong sense of the community hanging out here, and everyone seems to really care about each other.
The specials are always intriguing, but I generally stick with the usual items. Particularly, for dinner, I like their flatiron steak with chimichurri sauce. It's absolutely delicious.
Although I think their cocktails are pretty fancy, I'd love to see them get large ice cubes for some of the boozier drinks, rather than the smaller

We stopped in on a Saturday (in July) and this place was a zoo! There was some confusion about seating as another group of people tried jumping ahead of us, and once we were seated it took forever to get menus and water.
With that said, the sandwich I got was A-OK, although the fries were soggy and undercooked.
It also took forever to get the bill (I had to go up and ask for it).
Maybe it was just an off day for the staff, but we were pretty disappointed.

Best Meal of our summer!
I'm tempted to give the guarantee if you do not love your meal here, I'll give you your money back...but I'll just say if you do not love your meal and experience at Arp's, there is no future for us as friends.
Decor, Staff (we Wren) and Food...all top-notch.
Hope to return tonight for a signature cocktail.
