I've been bringing my dogs here for 20 years. I first started with my black lab when I lived in Glendale. She was 15.5 yrs old when we had to put her down. They helped us thru that very difficult time and the doctor was wonderful.
I've moved to Pasadena and still my dogs here. They are always super busy but the receptionist is always nice and accommodating. They can't always work us in but they try.

I have using Hollywood animal hospital since 1996 for all of my dogs.
When it was sold to VCA all went down the drain.
I took my dog for surgery as she needed some cancer masses removed.
I only went back because Dr Danielson was still there and she is excellent.
Come to find out she has moved and is no longer there. I met her college who so nonchalantly told me that its cancer and get some chemo, very non personal delivery of devastating news to me.
I was in a state of panic and wanted them removed asap and therefore scheduled surgery the next day.

I brought my cat to Hollywood Animal Hospital on an emergency basis; I was a walk-in. I sat in their waiting room with my cat for 3 hours. Apparently, they take the most severe walk-ins first. While I understand that, they did not know how severe my cat was. When I question the wait, and they told me this, I said nobody knows how severe my cat is because nobody has seen her. So they sent an aid to the waiting room to look at my cat. She tapped her nose, she petted her head and said she was stable. It turns out, my cat had an obstruction. An obstruction is life threatening. It turned out they

Worse place to ever take your animal if you love them.
The only thing they do is scary you into buying tests you don't need, but they do a very good job at that.
I'm shocked they don't try to sell pregnancy and drug test to your dog, that's the only thing they haven't tried selling me.
I've taken my dogs many times for simple shots and I'm over the BS and lack of compassion this place has for animals.

Horrible service. When I showed up they had me down for my appointment 10 minutes earlier than was confirmed by phone. By the time I did their texting instructions and waited and finally went in they said that we can no longer be seen because we were too late. Their sign out front says text and sit and wait. Very unprofessional. Will not be back.

I originally copied and pasted my mother's review to this site (she's the dogs owner) since she is 92 and doesn't know how to use Yelp. I on the other hand was there with the housekeeper. WE drove 30 minutes there to bring her dog there for urgent care regarding his fever, nausea and vomiting. They made us wait there for several hours before telling us that they were too busy to examine my dog.
I hope this satisfies your stringent review criteria. I would hate to have to post similar reviews all over the internet instead.

After a 5 hour wait we decided to walk out To another vet. No one ever saw us at vca. They said about an hour or two wait, brought me into the check up room with my sick dog and no one ever came in for hours. I walked out with my dog to go to another vet and they couldn't care less.
I was there from 11:30am and walked out after 4pm
so NO! THEY DO NOT CARE FOR YOU OR YOUR PET.

I highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone who needs care for their pet. I started bringing my dog here in 2013 for seizures and I always had a great experience. Everyone, from the front desk staff, to the veterinarians, and their assistants, were all competent and compassionate. I needed to have Cocoa (14 years old) admitted on Saturday due to persistent seizures. Dr. Lena and Dr. López called me throughout the night to update me on his condition. They helped me make the right decisions for Cocoa. Unfortunately, since he was suffering, I had to let my elderly little buddy go. I will be

Dr. Theresa Loo is absolutely incredible, she genuinely cares about our pets, she is knowledgeable, and she always looking for the ways to give you all options in caring for your pup. We love her, and the staff of the clinic. We have two puppies, Chichi and Koto, and they have been taken good care of. The doctor is always communicating with you, and we get check-up calls the day after the visit to check on our puppies. Their wellness program is great too: you are getting your vaccines, annual physicals, and all visits are covered. I wish we as humans had as much care as it is provided in this great

This office is the absolute worst. They make you wait 3 hours even thought you have an appointment. Then they raise the prices and don't mention it. I went in for a travel health certificate. It used to be $150, now it is $185, PLUS the exam fee of $75!!!!! Run! So many other honorable places to take your pet to. Plus, they had all the information in the computer, as this is the second or third one this year. Our dog is 1 year old, he is not sick, he is perfectly fine. Also the groomer is only there a few hours certain days, the front office staff turnover is worse than McDonald's.

Dr. Nicole Patterson is the most caring, loving, educated & professional veterinarian we have ever encountered! And we've been pet owners for over 30 years! She has been taking care of our dear doxie for the past several years. She also guided us with our senior chihuahua when he was diagnosed with cancer & had to cross the rainbow bridge. She truly embodies the word empathy This past year our then 10, now 11 year old doxie was diagnosed with a chemodectoma (a tumor in/around her heart). Every single question, inquiry or crazy thought I had, to give our loving dog a chance, has been

So happy they're 24/7!!
My puppy had an allergic reaction from something late at night on a Sunday. We gave her Benadryl but her face was really swollen and her coat was covered in hives. We called the closest animal hospital to see about bringing her in but they advised they had over an hour wait and she was just getting worse. Called this VCA and they said to bring her over, they'd see her right away. Unfortunately due to covid I couldn't go in with her and had to wait in my car. They gave her some medicine and we waited about 30 mins to see how she was responding. Luckily she

Brought my little Mal-Shi "Sugar" to the VCA emergency Hospital last Friday because she was having a severe allergic reaction to something she ate and had violent bloody diarrhea and vomiting. As soon as we got there they brought her in to check her. I was in a complete panic and Dr. Zapata immediately helped us, she took such good care of Sugar that just 2hrs after we left the hospital the diarrhea had stopped and Sugar was looking better. Exhausted but much better.
Dr. Zapata and the entire staff were extremely kind, caring and sweet to Sugar! It gave me so much comfort knowing she

I have to say, the way this hospital's entire team has handled patients and operations during the COVID-19 quarantines has been incredible. Not only have they kept clear communications about new procedures (waiting outside), but they also maintained the same level of excellence in helping clients as they did pre-COVID. I want to say a quick thank you to the team for safeguarding their health as well as the health of others, and for continuing their hard work during these ominous times.
My dog Frankie has been with this VCA for over 2 years, and we are ALWAYS treated with such kindness and

The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. They have a sign that lists the names of all the patients that are scheduled for the day.
Dr. Schnabel is amazing! She very gentle and thorough and she takes the time to explain things to you. She ran a number of tests on my baby to make sure he's be ok for surgery and then referred me to a surgeon that could perform the complicated surgery that he needed.
The waiting room is very comfortable, and they have parking. It's appointment only and they are on schedule. They also have a Dr on site that specializes in rabbits. I definitely recommend

Everything is true regarding what the previous 5 star review contains. Staff are compassionate and quality of care is excellent. My issue pertains to the fact that I was allowed to have multiple dental extraction procedure performed on my severely suffering 20 yr old kitty to the tune of $1,900. only to return TWO weeks later for the "follow up" and have it made abundantly clear to me by a different doc that the only humane option at that point was to be given five days of pain meds before putting her to sleep.
I appreciated her being direct as it burst my denial that the dental procedure
