We have always placed the highest priority on being here for your pets when you need us the most. We will continue to do that as long as possible. Urgent procedures are allowed, so we will continue to help your pets with anything that is causing discomfort or could worsen if treatment is delayed. If you are sick or immunocompromised, we are happy to get your pet from the car, but please do not enter the hospital.
Please call us from the parking lot. We are practicing social distancing, so please keep 6 feet away from other people while in the hospital. After check-in our staff will help direct you to aid in distancing. We ask that you limit yourself to only one pet owner per pet in the building to help with distancing.

Services
Forest Valley Veterinary Clinic has been here for over 30 years. Dr. Bill Steinkruger helped establish the hospital and worked with the animals of Cottage Grove until he passed away in 2009. Drs. Bruce Behrends, DuWayne Penfold, Ryan Frome and Paul Schiffgens now own and operate the hospital. They have worked hard to maintain the atmosphere that 'Dr Bill' created and continue to improve our ability to serve the veterinary needs of this community.
Forest Valley Veterinary Clinic provides complete medical, surgical and dental care for our patients, including cats, dogs, rabbits, pocket pets, and the occasional avian and reptile. Our clients know that when their pet has a problem, we will make sure they are seen that day. We also understand there are times when someone would like a second opinion on their pet's condition before undergoing a procedure.
We are proud of our family at Forest Valley Veterinary Clinic. We take patient care very seriously and we want you to know your pet is in good hands. Our Licensed Technicians ('Nurses'), Receptionists and Assistants have decades of experience between them and they also understand what it feels like to be in your shoes.
Cottage Grove has been a great town to have a veterinary hospital. We appreciate all the people that visit our practice and do our best to care for their pets. We know that appearances aren't everything, but we want you to be as proud of our hospital as we are.
This year we focused on repairs and fresh paint outside, a new heating and cooling system in the kennel to keep our boarding animals comfortable during their stay, and a new sign out front to reflect who we are and what we do.Behind the scenes there are changes that help us care for our patients as well.

Over the years, we've fielded many wonderful questions pertaining to our practice and the care of your pets. Below is a list of some of the most common ones we get. Please note that every pet and breed is different and may have unique requirements that we cannot give specific advice for. If you have a question that isn't answered here, check our patient resources page or call us at (541) 942-9132, and we'll do our best to help.
