I've been to all marine stores in the area and this store is ..by far...the best place to go! They have a TON of inventory but most importantly, they actually know what they are talking about (They wont give you the description on the product box like most other stores). Most sailboat problems are not straightforward and the sailboat industry is exceedingly diverse but these guys..hands down...have the skills and knowledge to deal with any issue...Peter built his own sailboat and repairs/remakes just about anything on a boat - Peter will tell you exactly what you need to know to get any problem

The service is always great. I have never not found a part or item I need at HMP, whereas everywhere else its 4 days+ for almost everything I need especially with my 1980 Baba 35 which has all weird sizes of connections and items etc. I have no clue why HMP gets such a bad reputation.
They have always been great and given good suggestions whenever I was unsure. Its really great to have someone so close my yacht club that I can depend on for most things.
Since covid its been curbside pickup but the service is the same.

Never had an issue at this store and prices are usually better than at most locations around the GTA. Came in to buy 2 sheets and 2 shackles, Peter offered to make a combined sheet so I only needed 1 shackle. Saved me money, trusted his experience, no disappointment. And the work was done in 20 min.

Great company, they carry lots of hard to find stuff. There seems to be only 1 or 5 star reviews of this place. The reality is, Peter's personality is an "acquired taste". That's something he and I share in common, so I have no problem relating to him. Those that don't take themselves too seriously will have no problem getting along with Peter and will benefit greatly from his wealth of production and knowledge.

I have been to this store many times and always had great help from Peter and his family. It's unfortunate a number of reviewers have had negative experiences. If you are an owner of a CS sailiboat, this is the place to go, whether it's a factory part or otherwise. HMP will source the part and give great advice on your CS sailiboat and accompanying hardware.

The worst customer service I have experienced at any store in my life. I initially went there to have a custom plexiglass window created because they said that they can do it. When I went there the first time, I was helped by a younger gentleman with glasses. He was very helpful. But then the issue started when a much older man came to assist and told me that I needed specific measurements. He was very condescending about it.
When I returned the following week with the measurements I saw the Same older gentleman that was pretty rude the first

I have been into this store once, and I will not return. As I was looking at different items, I witnessed Peter (owner) being extremely rude and loud to an older man who was asking a question. The older man was talking to him quietly because he didn't know or remember the proper terms of what he needed, and Peter took this opportunity to reply in his loud voice making sure that everyone in the store heard the conversation and to make sarcastic comments, spaced out by at least 3 F bombs. I witnessed the same routine with the next 2 people that talked to him in the store. I quickly realised that

Call ahead and make sure Peter is not there. He may be brilliant when it comes to sailboat equipment but he's an idiot when it comes to retail sales. I was looking to spend over $2,000 in his store and he just lost all of that over a $20 squabble about a cowl he sold me that turned yellow after 3 days. His son works in the store and is a great kid to deal with. I hope he has a plan B because if he is looking to inherit the store he's not going to have many customers left unless he kicks his old man out of there now!! I have spoken to three boaters already I'd say they will not deal with this store
