QuanTEM Laboratories was founded in Oklahoma City in 1989 and has been serving a growing number of environmental professionals since. As implied by our name, QuanTEM's original mission was the analysis of air samples for asbestos by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Over the years QuanTEM has become the industry leader in asbestos analysis earning praise from our customers in all fifty states and several foreign countries.
The mission of QuanTEM laboratories is to build a strong, long lasting partnership with our clients. This goal is achieved by providing quality sample analyses through a knowledgeable and experienced staff, national accreditations, strict quality control and a sincere commitment to customer service.
John E. Barnett (President) has over thirty years of marketing and management experience in the construction, environmental and laboratory industries. Mr. Barnett joined QuanTEM 15 years ago and through diligent focus on growth has built QuanTEM into the premier testing laboratory it is today.
His successes at QuanTEM include expansion of laboratory services to include most Indoor Environmental Quality concerns, promoting training courses for the education of environmental professionals, and insisting on excellent customer service throughout the organization.His varied experience includes hazardous materials site testing, assessment, and remediation, business ownership and executive level business management.

Quantitative Analysis of paint and soil for lead content (weight percentage or parts per million) by EPA 7000B. Quantitative Analysis of air and dust samples by NIOSH 7082 & 9100, respectively. TCLP Analysis of soil, paint and debris for waste disposal purposes. QuanTEM is the only laboratory recognized for lead analysis by the AIHA-LAP, LLC #101352 in the state of Oklahoma.
