Services
Since moving to San Diego in 1996, Rebecca has been teaching, performing, and participating in the constant evolution of social dance throughout the San Diego area. Trained in the traditional Ballroom and Latin dances, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy-hop, Salsa, and Argentine Tango, Rebecca's expertise lies in helping new students find their comfort level on the floor.
As a new dancer, you might not know which dances to start with. These brief descriptions with video and song clips will give you an idea of what each dance is like, so you can decide which ones might suit you best. East Coast Swing is essentially the "Jitterbug" that became so popular in the 40's and 50's.and it is still very much alive today.
You'll have a chance to experience the teaching style of your instructor and the atmosphere of the dance studio- to make sure we are a good fit. If you're not certain exactly what dance styles you'd like to learn, we can help you decide. Your preferences in music, the types of places you might go to dance, and the 'look' you prefer in a dance will all come into play.

10 days before our son's wedding he and his fiancé decided they wanted to learn a dance for their reception. A mother son dance was also on the schedule. I looked into studios and found Dancing Together. It was close to home, and got great reviews, so we gave it it a try.
The studio is located in Pacific Beach, and has parking! The inside of the studio is clean and well set up. Rebecca was our teacher, she was fabulous! She was patient, fun and listened to what we wanted to do. She kept us on a definite path, knowing we had only a short time to learn.

This was the best part of our wedding planning experience. Neither of us had taken dance lessons previously, and we didn't even have a clear idea of what we wanted other than the ability to dance at our wedding. Rebecca delivered! We had worked hard with Rebecca in preparing our surprise first dance for our wedding. We were concerned that we would lose all of our progress when we could not visit her studio. She suggested that we work with her on an online, video link up. We wondered how that would work but we decided to give it a try. We can't thank Rebecca enough for teaching us our first dance for our wedding! She knew exactly what to do to help us learn what we needed, especially since we are not experienced dancers. She was so patient with us and helped us understand the different steps and turns, explaining multiple times. My husband had a crazy idea to take dance lessons before our wedding-and I told him it was crazy. Turned out, it was one of our best wedding decisions! This is a remarkable dance studio. We were facing the dreaded "first dance" of our wedding in late August (only dreaded because we don't know how to dance and it is the opposite of that "dance as if no one is watching" thing, right?) so we booked 10 lessons with Silke Miller (one of the teachers there) and she was awesome. She is fun, creative, helpful, but also honest about what needs improving and what works. Also Silke helped us develop our own ideas to put together an actual routine. My dad and I are not dancers so we were looking for some instruction before the Father Daughter dance at my wedding. We enjoyed that dancing together was private lessons and catered exactly to our needs. Our instructor also made sure that the positions we were holding would photograph well since we know that there would be plenty of pictures of this moment. Silke is an incredible instructor and we could not be more pleased with how our first dance as husband and wife turned out! Not being the most coordinated of dancers, we were a little worried about what the final product would be from only 5 dance lessons before our wedding day. However, Silke was extremely encouraging, patient, hilarious, and really everything you would hope for in a dance instructor. My boyfriend bought dance lessons as a gift for Valentine's Day. We've been so busy we finally made an appointment this weekend. I was excited/ nervous because I cannot dance to save my life. Ok so I have zero dance experience, and ZERO coordination! Rebecca is a miracle worker!!! We took lessons for our first dance. We wanted to look comfortable and not like we were under distress. I am not sure who is enjoying the gifting of ballroom dance lessons to my wife a few years ago. It gave us a new entertainment outlet; dancing together several times a week, participating instead of just watching, and making new friends. Rebecca is truly a gifted instructor teaching at a pace conducive to our learning process. I started taking dance lessons because I was hoping to go to clubs and parties and be more social and dance with more confidence. I chose Salsa and Merenge because I am Latin and a Latino has to dance to Latin music!
