Services
Dr. Donna Corder is the newest ophthalmologist to join Southern Eye Group. She received her M.D. from the Wayne State School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Detroit Medical Center in Michigan. Her fellowship in Orbit, Oculoplastic, and Reconstructive Surgery was at the Kresge Eye Institute.
Dr. Gross, a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializes in treating patients for glaucoma. Dr. Gross's areas of special interests include glaucoma consultation and treatment, including surgery, eye disease screening, and population health. He was professor and chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Director of the WVU Eye Institute from 2013 through 2018.
Ayesha C. Kidd OD, FAAO, is a native of Vincent, Alabama located in Shelby County. After graduating as valedictorian of the class of 2000 at Vincent High school, Dr. Kidd matriculated to the University of Montevallo. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a psychology minor.
Dr. Hong Nguyen grew up in Houston, Texas where she graduated with a BBA in Management and a minor in Biology from the University of Houston. She earned her Doctor of Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences School of Optometry. Following her doctorate, Dr. Nguyen underwent extensive residency training in Primary Care/Ocular Disease at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Ray is our newest physician to join the Southern Eye Group. He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He graduated from UC Davis where he majored in Biochemistry and completed medical school at Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Having moved from Huntsville we have had to redo everything. My wife saw Dr Wilder first and first try he was able to get her contacts and glasses right. They were very flexible on her contact trials and her glasses came back exactly how she wanted them. Me in the other hand is probably the worse patient one can be. The technician was fantastic. She took her time with me and for that reason all was good. Dr Wilder also understood my concerns. He was conservative on the approach but looks like the first try on my contacts is going to work. They also took my insurance which is a plus. I

Beware! My eyes had become so irritated I booked a appointment with Dr Rowlins. Met with Dr Rowlins, she prescribed a treatment plan requiring prescriptions. This office policies are to send prescriptions to your pharmacy at 12 for am patients and close of business for afternoon patients. I went back to the office and called their business subsidiary, same answer. So if your expectations are to be treated as a patient needing immediate relief, this establishment is not for you.

I was scheduled for cataract surgery on 01/29/20 at 11:50 am being done at the surgery center 411 section St. In Fairhope. The day before the surgery my surgery time was changed to 10:00 am due to cancellations. It's a 1 1/2 hour drive from my residence to the surgery center, arriving at 9:30 to complete all necessary paperwork . The patient waiting area was full and overheard waiting patients grumbling about some having the same appointment times with one patient had been waiting since 7 am, by this time it was 12:00 so I asked the receptionist how much longer I would be waiting. She was at Center for Sight when I went to see about a growth on my eyelid. I called and called about the results, but when I went to her office I was told they had called me. That was nonsense. I have three phone numbers, all of which are 24/7. Then she argued about physics of radiation. She was wrong but why would a physician argue with a patient?

Dr. Zloty and staff are wonderful. I had a consultation for LASIK thinking I had a prescription too high to get the procedure. Dr. Zloty saw me and eased my concerns. He and his staff explained everything to me and answered all my questions. The surgery was quick and I was briefed about how much discomfort I would experience. I went through the surgery just fine and can see without prescription lenses for the first time in about 30 years.
