Robbie's Place, an assisted living facility situated on the beautiful New Horizons Assisted Living campus in Marlborough, has created a model of care which helps to address the needs of the people suffering from psychiatric disorders. Robbie's Place combines the amenities of assisted living with professional care aimed at addressing the needs of this unique population.
Some of the common psychiatric problems that occur in the elderly are depression, anxiety, psychotic disorders, and addictions, as well as combinations of these disorders. In many instances, these disorders are not treated as aggressively or addressed seriously in the elderly. There is a often a misconception that they are normal part of aging.
What separates Robbie's Place from traditional Assisted Living is the specialized program addressing mental health needs and the professionals who deliver the care. In collaboration with the family or guardian, our team creates an environment in which achieving the maximum level of wellness is encouraged.
