Services
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Bechtel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Nebraska in 1991 with a B.S. in Mathematics. She lived in Japan for one year teaching Math and then served in the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant. She graduated at the top of her class from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Optometry in 2000 where she received the Eskridge Clinical Excellence Award.

Just called to get a pair of over $300 glasses fixed and because it’s out of warranty they said they could get me in for another exam and get another pair but at full price. Wouldn’t even work with me. Never going back. And all I did was clean then. And they snapped in half. Over $300 glasses broke that easy. 6mnths past warranty and nothing.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bechtel's for several years and have always been very pleased with her professionalism and dedication for meeting her patient's needs. She recently saw my five-year old daughter for the first time and her and her staff provided the utmost of care for her. From the exam to picking out her glasses, Dr. B and her entire staff were very accommodating to make sure my daughter was comfortable. I recommend her to anyone!

First eye exam for me in quite a while, with the last experience being horrible. Martinsville Eyecare Center is wonderful! The staff is so friendly and helpful and the Dr took her time w/ me during the exam so I was sure I was getting what I needed. Great appointment and I would definitely recommend them!

All of the staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. They make scheduling appointments easy and are quick to respond to questions. I love Dr. Theresa Bechtel. She is highly skilled, explains what to expect during the visit, easy to understand, answers all your questions and is always positive with a smile. She has willingly went the extra mile for a person like me with complex medical conditions. I first met her when I had an eye aneurysm. She stayed overtime to check my eye and advise and schedule me to see another specialist. What could have been a scary time for me, was not because
