From ballet to hip hop, we offer dance classes for ALL ages & skill levels in a variety of styles.

Services
Nan's School of Dance began in 1975 when Nan Holt Smith started teaching 40 students in her hometown of Yadkinville, NC. She and her husband, Chuck Smith, established the first Greensboro studio in 1982. Nan's oldest daughter, Jennifer Grinwis, has been director of the Greensboro and Yadkinville studios since 2002.
From mid-August through May, we offer a variety of styles for all skill levels using only kid-friendly music. We place students in classes that will challenge them while offering an enjoyable atmosphere for learning and growing. While teaching technical proficiency and self-discipline, we also build self-esteem and poise while having fun!
Nan's School of Dance is offering a 4 week class sessions and camps during the month of July. See below for dates, times, and pricing. You may register by going online or giving us a call. All summer class session fees and camp tuition fees are due upon registration. Camp & class tuition fees are refundable up until 2 weeks before the camp/class start date.
Our Company Performance Group is our competitive dance program here at Nan's. This team is made up of dancers ages 4th-12th grade, who are ready to take their passion for dance to the next level. Divided by age group & skill level, the Company environment fosters technique, drive, and leading-edge choreography.
Tuition rates are per student and based on the amount of time a student is in class each week. Siblings receive a $5/month sibling discount. Your student's annual registration fee is $35. Sibling registration fees are $10 per sibling. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Monthly tuition must be paid by the first of every month with an automatic draft.

My daughter has been at Nan's Dance since she was 2 years old. She is now 5 and loves her ballet and tap class at Nan's. I have seen so much progress but most importantly, her confidence shines! Mrs. Hillary, a teacher and the owner is FANTASTIC! She makes sure students are having fun while learning the art of dance.

If you’re looking for mediocre dance lessons in a run down building then this is the place for you!! Want to relax while your child runs around aimlessly for an hour? Forget it, you will be segregated and forced to sit outside if you don’t wear a mask. We dropped out of this school after about a month. Not impressed.

My daughter has danced at Nan's School of Dance since she was 4 years old, she is now 12. We love everything about Nan's! The teachers are amazing...not only are they all talented dancers but they all love teaching dance. Ms. Hillary puts together the best recitals. She is extremely organized and prepares the students so well to perform. My daughter has grown so much as a dancer during her years at Nan's. I can't recommend Ms. Hillary and her team enough!!!

Absolutely love Nan’s School of Dance! Fun, friendly environment, excellent teachers, incredible owner and close to home! Communication is excellent as well. My daughter is going into her 2nd year at Nan’s as a company dancer and has loved her experience. I had the pleasure of working there last season and Hillary was an amazing boss! Highly recommend as a place to work and for your children to dance.

My two girls have danced with this studio since my oldest was 4 years old and my youngest was turning 3. They are now 11 and turning 9. The both absolutely loves the classes offered and the teachers. The studio isn’t very “stuffy” if you know what I mean. Everyone is relaxed and just wants their kids to enjoy themselves. My oldest made the inaugural Company team last year and it made her year! The company classes are so well run. They won 1st place in their very first competition. My youngest is happy to be a recreational dancer and is ecstatic to be in the Acro Dance class this coming season

My daughter has been part of the Nan's family for 4 years now. We have seen Nan's School of Dance grow and change locations, but the studio has maintained that sense of being a dance "family" throughout. Miss Hillary (Hillary White), the owner, is extremely personable, helpful, and hands on. As busy as Hillary must be, she is always available to answer questions and offer helpful advice or information when it comes to dance. The dance teachers that my daughter has had at Nan's have also been knowledgeable, fun, and engaging.
