They mean quality and a local professional florist or a local professional florist with a Certified Florist on staff. Each and every Certified Florist has passed a rigorous certification and continuing education process that requires the utmost in professional knowledge and experience.
As consumers are offered more and more options for purchasing flowers, Florists must differentiate and brand themselves as the "Professional" in the floral industry. Consumers want to spend their hard earn money as prudently as possible. They don't want to buy inferior product so they will be searching out the "best of the best" when it comes to making purchases.
The Great Lakes Floral Association Scholarships awarded will be up to $1000. The scholarship may be used for the Certified Florist program, or to attend a professional education center workshop or the Great Lakes Floral & Event Expo. Any funds not used in the time frame will be rolled back into the GLFA general scholarship fund.
