As the very last hotel you pass before entering the park, the Buckeye Tree Lodge has been a memorable part of Three Rivers and the Sequoia National Park landscape since the late 1940's. Set alongside the banks of the Kaweah River and beside the historic landmark Pumpkin Hollow Bridge, the Buckeye offers you many areas to sit, relax, and simply enjoy the natural landscape.

Enjoy the best views and your own private balconies, as well as a full open layout kitchen, outdoor grill, laundry set-up, and wood-burning stove.

The Canopy is a brand new two-story building designed exclusively for groups to enjoy the beauty of the area in a uniquely restorative way through yoga, massage, & other wellness focused experiences.
No matter what you're in the mood for, Three Rivers and Sequoia National Park both have plenty of activities to fit your style and budget. While many activities are available year round, some are only available in certain seasons (a good reason to visit at different times of the year). Below are some of the more popular activities but feel free to reach out to our adventure specialists for more suggestions.
The Buckeye Tree Lodge & Cabins is a project motivated by renewing our relationship and connection between business and the natural world. We constantly challenge ourselves to be better in a holistic way: striving for the best guest experience, decreasing environmental impact, and maintaining a positive influence on our local community.

We had the Eagle Cabin for two nights. Quant little one bedroom cabin with kitchenette, dining area with a fireplace/stove in a corner of the tiny living room space by the entry of the cabin. All of this crammed into a footprint the size of a mobile home. The cabin had a patio out back with table that seated four and a charcoal BBQ grill set up. A decent staging place for trips into Sequoia National Park which was literally one mile up the road. Dining option across the street with the Gateway Lodge and Restaurant, and other dining options back down the road towards Three Rivers within 10 minutes

This place is a hidden gem! Just a couple of miles from the park entrance. The staff were great and friendly. The backyard view of the rocks/river was perfect . Very tranquil! A great way to unwind from the busy city life and embracing nature. They even wrote a happy birthday note and thanking us for staying with them. My husband and I intend to stay here in the near future!

What a cute place with a great location! Just by the park and next to a river (which I cooled off in after the parks) and pools. Nice ppl, great COVID safety, staff consistently wear masks.

My SO and I have been stuck at home not only because of COVID but also because we are caring for my Dad who is a 90 year old cancer patient going through immunotherapy. Of course just as we were leaving, we heard about the booster shot for him. So while trying to relax I was calling his doctor, touching bases with my sister in another county to see if they could take him (the process was different there), so

Terrible. The room was full of bugs and the hot water was broken. I stayed here with my children and they continuously complained about the customer service, the smell inside our room, which was terrible, and the quality of the bathroom and food, as well as the ant infestation in our rooms. I would not be staying here again.

We just returned from a four night stay during July 4th. This is minutes away from Sequoia national park gate. Essentially the closest lodging to the park you can find in three river CA. The property is very well taken care of. The room is clean and AC is strong and quiet. This area gets hot in the summer and a strong and clean AC is critical. The river runs right by the property. We spent time in the evening just soaking in the crystal clear river water and look at the surrounding mountains. The office staff is very helpful. They helped us frozen up certain items that don't fit the fridge in the

This lodge is as close as you can get to the entrance of sequoia national park. However keep in mind it is still about a 50 minute drive through winding roads up to the main attractions. Really nice location, the place was overall clean but a little older. Restaurant located right next door for convenience as well.

I just love this little lodge. We stayed here for a few nights and you cannot beat the location. It's the last establishment before entering the park. We stayed in room 9 and for us, it was perfect. It has a little cooktop and small fridge/freezer which was great. We have two kids and wanted to have some amenities like that to make breakfasts and lunches for the park. It's also right next to the pool which was perfect after a hot day on the trails in Sequoia.

The service here was also amazing. The lodge is old (and wonderful) and our shower had a little issue. The employees were right

We rented a room for the long weekend but didn't make it there because both our toddlers threw up in the car four hours into the trip. We went back home to take care of them and sadly let Buckeye know we couldn't make it.

The Buckeye staff - in particular, Rose - had already been wonderful handling a special request from us. We didn't expect any money when we cancelled since we were past the cancellation time but they went above and beyond and found someone to rent two of our nights so we received an unexpected refund.

We plan on spending the refund and a little more to make a

Stayed in one of the cabins. Quaint, cozy and comfortable. Queen size bed in the Blossom cabin where we stayed. It was enjoyable since only staying 2 nights. Had we planned a longer stay I would've opted for more amenities. A king sized bed would've been preferred. Cabin bathroom only had a shower and after a long day of hiking a soak in a tub would've been nice. No phone in cabin and cell service was poor but found certain spots in room that worked. Free wifi. Cabin is located across the street from the lodge and office. There is an outdoor pool but it's also located across

If you're going to the park, you quite literally cannot get closer to the entrance! The rest of Three Rivers is about 10 minutes away, so you save yourself a good 20 minutes every day getting into the park!
Great location, scenic overlooks, fantastic and friendly staff.
We have nothing but high praise for the place!

It’s a good place to stay, the location is really beautiful and like others have said it’s really close to the park! They are right at the edge of the river so you see and hear water from some of the rooms. It’s peaceful and there is a fuller restaurant on site which is pretty convenient. You can dine there with a view of the river! Other things about the cabin were great, like they were plenty of towels and the kitchen came fully equipped.
We stayed in the River House which is their largest cabin. I stayed in the room in the back of the house which has one queen and accommodates two people

Great spot to stay if you're heading into the Sequoia National Park, as it's the closest to the gates as you'll get! We rented the Forest cabin for a few nights and it was a great experience. The place was spacious with all the needs covered if you want to eat in. The rooms are spacious and have plenty of space to keep your clothes. Each room and the living room has it's own heater and they're very quiet! I wasn't sure they were working until I felt the warmth, HUGE plus. The only problem was the remote that controls the heater in the smaller bedroom right next to

This place was amazing. We stayed at the river house presidential suite. In late January. 3 rooms 2 baths. It is a split level flooring design. A few steps up to living area with a balcony overlooking a beautiful rocky river. Down a hallway on the other end of the house is a bedroom with a front porch. A few more steps up to the master with private balcony, walk ins, bathroom. Downstairs is a large bedroom with 2queens........ this place is huge. Not sure the square footage, but it's big enough for 8 people to have their own space.
The views are gorgeous! In January it's snow capped

This is the closest you can stay if you are going to visit Sequoia National Park.

They have cabins and rooms with various party sizes and have views to the Kaweah River. Cabins have a kitchen and the rooms have a microwave and refrigerator. Since I booked very last minute I got room 10, two queen beds good for four people. The room and parking is in front of highway 198.

When I booked the room, there was a hold and a day prior to my arrival I received a call from them and they charged my credit card. Due to Covid, they have contactless check-in. The room keys were outside the office

I'm a huge fan! My husband and I had reservations at another lodge in Sequoia National Park canceled the day before our trip due to COVID concerns, and luckily Buckeye had availability. We rented one of their cabins and loved it: lots of space, very clean, comfy bed, full kitchen, outdoor patio space, and more. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Now I'd never want to stay anywhere else in the area!

Really cannot say enough great things about this spot. From the get go everyone was so helpful and welcoming. I called with a few questions and spoke with Noelle and she was so informative an helpful. We decided on the PERFECT room. It backed up to the river and had a mini fridge and hot plate. It was exactly what we needed to stay a few days while exploring the National Parks. We also received a really through email prior to our trip with helpful directions, information, and recommendations for restaurants and things to do... even itinerary ideas for the parks...SO GREAT. We got a call the night

We stayed a total of 5 nights at the Buckeye Tree Lodge in early August. We had a GREAT time there--three nights in one of the cabins, two nights in the lodge. The cabin had a shady tree and patio with a grill outside, comfortable bed and small but functional kitchen. The Lodge room also had comfortable bed and good ventilation/AC for a very hot few days. The staff and owners were around frequently and good resources for local information, and really accommodating during these strange COVID days. We couldn't have been happier to stay there--it's really close to Sequoia Park entrance

Wonderful lodge! We stayed here for 3 nights in room #9 with a kitchenette. The room is very clean and cozy. It faces the river and it was lovely to hear the stream during the evenings and early mornings. The place is right next to the entrance of the park. Perfect location!

I thought the walls were too thin. Lodge room #9 is located on the ground floor, so we could heard talking and footsteps from upstairs. It could have been that our neighbors were talking loud and heavy footed, but this won't stop us from booking here again.

Perfect spot to go with kids! I am here with a 6 and 9 year old and have to say it's just a really amazing spot. There is a rope swing, restaurant next door, and the coolest ever is that right in back is a river with natural pools and you can swim and play in the river in small pools and there are some natural slides - just an amazing time with lifelong memories! The rooms are comfy and the AC works great, plus it's also super close to the park entrance. We will be back for sure, love it here!

Loved this little rustic lodge right next door to the parks' entrance. We stayed at the river cabin which we found to be clean and spacious for a family of 8. The location right on the river is special and makes for fantastic views and memories. Taking away one star because my sister booked a room during our stay and it could have been a tad cleaner. Also the basic lodge rooms are VERY small. My advice is to get a cabin! We hope to be back soon.

I honestly could not love this place anymore than I do right now! We used to come here when our daughter was little 3 to 7 years old. Now she's 17, and what better time than after 3 months at home for the pandemic, to come to Three Rivers and Sequoia National Park for a mother daughter trip to nature. Tje park is spectacular!!! . The Buckeye Tree is the closest lodging to the park , at about 1 mile away. Sequoia national park just opened and they are not yet charging to enter.
The hotel is as comfy and sweet as I remember. Christian and Shannon bought here about 3 years ago

Love this lodge! It's old and rustic but very clean. We stayed in a 2 bedroom ,1 bath lodge , with bbq grill outside and full kitchen inside . We were not given a basket with muffins and other goodies since we have a kitchen . It's pet friendly and I was concerned about dog dander but so far we have no problem. There's is a restaurant few steps from the hotel ( Gateway) and will give you 10% discount if you present your room key.
The ladies who work here are all nice , they let us in 2 hours early .

Was initially going to stay in Fresno to visit the national parks because all other places in or by the parks were outrageous but this place was surprisingly reasonably priced. Stayed in late February. Everything was super clean, and it had beautiful views. Was like 2 minutes from the sequoia national park entry. Will definitely book again.

I can't say enough about this place. We stayed just one night as our destination was Sequoia National Park. The Buckeye Tree Lodge is old and rustic yet very well maintained. The grounds are nicely landscaped with a picnic table, and tables and chairs for relaxing while enjoying the beautiful Kaweah river and amazing scenery in the backyard area. It was just very warm and welcoming.

When we checked in, the nice lady at the front desk gave us a little basket with fruit, muffins and Kerns fruit juice. Who does that? We loved it! Upon entering our room we found it to be very clean and cozy
