He stated that the V-drive had been delivered to rmp's Marine and partially disassembled. We spoke with Mr. Removed for Privacy of Removed for Privacy's Marine Engines. He stated that the V-drive had been disassembled to a point that would allow a determination of the cause of loss. Mr. Removed for Privacy stated that he wanted to attend the inspection of the machinery.
We attempted to speak with the insured upon receipt of the assignment and left him several messages. He stated that he purchased the vessel new in the summer of 2002. He said the engine was replaced in the fall of 2007. He said the old engine was swamped with water and due to a deployment, he was unable to attend to it properly.
The client had Christian & Company Marine Surveyors survey the vessel at the time of purchase to inspect and survey the engines at the time of purchase. She used the vessel at the time of purchase during the sea trial and she has used the vessel approximately four times since purchase. She stated that she has been receiving instruction from the captain (phone number removed for privacy).
