International Child Care began more than forty years ago, when James and Virginia Snavley made their first trip to Haiti. What began as a vacation became a mission of love, as they committed themselves to answer God's call to serve the least of all: the suffering and needy children whose eyes seemed to plea "Why me?"
Compelled by their faith in Christ, the Snavleys decided to open a small clinic for boys and girls with tuberculosis. Writing to their friends in North America, they shared a vision to restore health and wholeness to hurting children-one precious life at a time. With these friends, they moved forward in prayer and determination.

Services
Grace Children's Hospital, founded in 1967, is recognized as Haiti's leading medical facility dedicated to the treatment of children with tuberculosis (TB). Each year, the hospital receives thousands of children who are suffering from TB, HIV, and other diseases. Children who are seriously ill are admitted to the inpatient ward, where they receive constant care from the hospital's all-Haitian staff.
Empowering an entire community to care for the health of its children is powerful, effective, and sustainable. International Child Care partners with the community to advance health and wellness through education, health promotion, child health clinics, immunization programs, traditional birth attendant training, and micro-enterprise projects.
Students, nurses, and healthcare promoters can now put theory to practice in the SimLab, or simulation laboratory, a safe environment to learn, practice, critically think and be tested on skills before attempting at the bedside. Manikins representing newborns, infants, children, and adults provide learning opportunities through simulation exercises.
