Overall this place was a great experience. Clean rooms, friendly staff and continental breakfast. Limited options because of the holidays but normally the bar/restaurant are open and there’s usually a good crowd and friendly bartenders ready to serve you! Very reasonable prices as well. Will be back when visiting.

Had a great stay, the view was great on the lake but I dont think ill be back because the vehicles aren't safe in the parking lot because bfs car was involved in a hit and run and they didn't have cameras in the parking lot to help us possibly get the person or plate number that done it.

The ‘resort’ is very dated a d in desperate need of remodeling. Our room was dirty, especially the pocket door which when pulled out was extremely thick with dust. We chose to not use it because it was so filthy. The lobby furniture was so worn I wouldn’t sit on it. The fitness area has nothing in it to wipe down the equipment, no hand sanitizer and the nearest sink (the laundry room) had no soap or paper towels. No one, including staff, wears masks, so don’t come here if you’re still aware there’s a pandemic. We only came to attend a wedding, so we had no choice but to stay. Also,

Very nice hotel right on the lake. Very clean and very good customer service. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 3 stars is the food at the hotel restaurant was terrible. Burger was not juicy, french fries were good but not hot, soup was way too salty and rib tops were all fat and did not fall off the bone. Breakfast was not good. Pancakes out of a machine.

For a getaway, the location is good. The room was spacious. The view was good, it was a Lakeview room which is what I reserved. Cleanliness was not so good. The room smelled of urine. The sink appeared to have been used as a urinal - Stained yellow and smelled of urine. Used Clorox bathroom cleaner and Fabulouso which I bought from the Dollar Store in the neighborhood to clean the sink and to deodorize the room during my 7-day stay.

We were having work done on our motor home and the manufacturer put us up here for 3 days. Nice hotel and very friendly staff. The hotel is pet friendly though they do charge $25 per day for the pet.
Hotel is in good shape and they have nice grounds right on Lake Wawasee. You can relax right by the water and they do have a small beach if you are inclined for a dip.

The place is beautiful, it was busy so had trouble finding parking. Every time I go there to see the live entertainment my service is not the best. I didn't even get service until after my friend showed up and she had to go to the bar to get water. I made eye contact, and tried to get a server's attention even saying,, "Excuse me" when she was close enough and I was ignored.
Then a server came over, my friend discussed wine choices and the server started to walk off BEFORE asking if I wanted anything! I know she saw me because she handed me the menus.
That being said, the live entertainment was

Hey, Sarah! I know you're probably reading this - for those who are NOT Sarah reading this review, she should be fired promptly if you have any regard for customer service or the future of this establishment.

My family has been coming to Lake Wawasee for the last hundred years. Our last visit was great, this one makes me want to Wawa-wanna run for the hills. I'll break this review into comprehensive bullets: I type this as the final embers of the Oakwood Jenga blocks burn before my eyes, a fate the Oakwood "resort" will soon face metaphorically if they don't shape up

This place is like summer camp for adults. You can use their bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, bags games, and more. There is a complimentary continental breakfast during the week. We stayed in Lake house 61. It is right across from the Inn and front desk. We had a partial lake view. The house is old but clean and decorated nicely. I will definitely come back. Lots to do in the area!

Amazing service and a fun venue, but the food is provincial, pretentious, and overpriced. We ordered the seafood pasta, and while we like clams, mussels, etc. and while we like coconut milk, this dish did not work at all. We also had the fresh oysters, which qualitywise were well below any oysters I've ever had: they appeared to have been rinsed off under the sink and were void of any flavor. The banana split and lava cake were both excellent. I will come back here for a drink, maybe dessert, and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake, but I cannot recommend the food to anyone.

We recently stayed at the Oakwood Resort in Syracuse, Indiana and had an amazing time! We were looking for a 'getaway' from home for a few days.

I booked a lake side King suite room on the 2nd floor, but there are many other options.  The room was spacious, clean, and was more than enough room for the two of us.  Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was again, more than big enough for the two of us.

A few steps out the back of the hotel is its own private beach. There are chairs to lounge in the sun or under a tree, a fire pit, some games, and canoes for the hotel

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. But 1 star it is. As far as for cleanliness and atmosphere it was nice. The view of the lake was spectacular! Went here with a friend and we sat down at a table that had view of the water and waited. AND WAITED! There were three waiters/waitresses to 6 full tables. Nobody, waited on us. Approximately 45 min later, We had to go to the bar to order our drinks each and every time. We had to ask for menus. I wish I could give a report on the food but due to the crappy/no service, we left and ate somewhere else.

First time here and very nice resort. Friendly staff and place was really laid out nicely. Rooms are clean and good sized. This town seems like a summer town with all the boats and docks.

The only two minor items would be lack of hot water for the shower(was warm but not hot) and the tile floors don't feel the same as carpet on your feet. I prefer carpet but understand the hard floor given the potential for sand from the small beach.

Plenty of free parking and great outdoor eating. We ate dinner and breakfast at the big restaurant and the staff was really friendly. Caught a solid live

Just spent a nite at this lovely hotel. All Covid precautions were being observed and used by all.

We ate a meal outside and everyone seated were spaced apart, wait staff wearing masks and fabulous view of water. Enjoyed two meals at the restaurant and food was delicious!

We walked the trail that surrounds the area.

Highly recommend !

Hello Oakwood Resort,

My mother booked two rooms for my bridesmaids and I to have our bachelorette weekend here. The resort is beautiful, however I was disappointed to find in our hotel, a bathroom door that gets stuck opening and closing it, hair in the bathtub, a lacroix can in the trash, a leaking fridge, a dirty sink, expires pop in the vending machine and a leaking refrigerator.

I'm not making my mother aware, but wanted to let you know that I expected a nicer environment for a resort, especially during a pandemic. They also weren't enforcing the mask rule, which is a state mandated

This is a beautiful hotel on Lake Wawasee in Syracuse, Indiana.

It's clean and well kept. The staff is friendly.

I love that they recently added a Starbucks inside! (You can't use your app or get points though.)

We love to bring the boat over for lunch or dinner at sit outside. They have a nice patio that overlooks the lake. Everything I've ordered over the years has been great, I've never had a bad dish.

Service is always great too!

Service this year much improved

The food selection is very good too glad to see many healthier options available without flour or sugar

Tiki is fun even though a little small on capacity.

The floating piers however are horrible for boaters.

They are chafing the hulls marring the gelcoat. The plastic peels onto the hull causing damage.

Not enough cleats to tie up properly causing boats to bang the dock. Cleats at minimum should not be more than 12ft apart to allow proper tie up.

They are too low to for driver visibility while docking. I see people struggling constantly.

I stayed here for a wedding this weekend. The rooms were nice. They brightly painted and well lit. My biggest complaint of the stay is the room temperature. We had our air set to 68 and noticed it kept getting warmer and warmer in the room and my friend in another room had the same issues. It was up to 74 at one point with no airflow. I went downstairs to mention it to the front desk for the second time and a man was complaining at the front desk because his room was 81! So it wasn't just my room; however, the front desk didn't really help at all. They just said they couldn't fix
