Irina S. Shea, Attorney At Law
We are an Estate Planning and Elder Law Firm dedicated to helping families plan and protect their assets and their loved ones. We understand how important estate planning is, especially during this 2020 health crisis. That said, we understand that clients are reluctant to talk about incapacity, death, divorce, money and family issues all in one sitting.

Our estate planning process is thoughtful, thorough and simple. We will guide you (and your spouse) through important decisions and practical solutions in our very first meeting. At the end of your first meeting, we will recommend one of three flat fee options and have your estate plan ready in under 4 weeks for review and signing.
Services
Irina S. Shea is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Business and the Georgetown University Law Center and has been an estate planning attorney since 1996. She is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and New York.

She has worked as an associate attorney in the Trusts & Estates department of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom in NYC doing high end estate planning and as a Vice President and Trust Officer at JP Morgan Private Bank in NYC.These experiences gave her unique insights into not just strategic estate planning but the real life execution of such estate plans years later that prove invaluable to her private practice clients today.
If you're an elder without a spouse or children and you are living on your own, it's even more critical that you have a comprehensive estate plan naming trusted people to take care of you, your health care decisions, your finances, and your estate. You may also be worried about your own incapacity and who would take care of you if you were not able to make decisions on your own.
If you are an elder or an elder married couple with adult children and grandchildren, you want to make sure that your children inherit your assets smoothly and without the burdens of estate administration. You may even want to leave their inheritance in a trust to protect it from divorce, business creditors, and other risks so that you know those funds will eventually reach your grandchildren.
If you're in your forties, fifties, or sixties with young adult children you may be contemplating retirement, downsizing to an apartment, moving to a less expensive state, or helping your children with their first home purchase. Your young adult children may not be financially mature enough to handle a large inheritance so a fair flexible trust for them may make sense.
If you're in your twenties, thirties, or forties and married with young children under the age of 18, the most important thing you can do is name a guardian in your Will followed by trusts for your minor children. This is one of the most difficult, yet important, decisions that a parent can make.

We can guide you on what the considerations are for naming an ideal guardian and trustee and create trusts until an age of financial maturity (for example, age 30) that will give you peace of mind that even if you were not here to raise your children that trusted loved ones would do so.

I am writing concerning Irina Shea's assistance with the administration of a relative's estate. Ms. Shea assisted me beforehand with the relative's estate preparations.
As with my initial experience, Ms. Shea was very professional and always there to assist me with my questions and concerns. There was a lot of administration associated with the estate which she had full knowledge of how to handle. Her entire team was able to help me spot on and quickly. She worked with municipal and county officials, and the family accountant brilliantly. I would highly recommend her services. A real professional

My wife and I used Irina to do a whole estate plan. We were both impressed by her professionalism and responsiveness to our needs. She was also very easy to talk to and explained things in ways we could understand. I also found her fee to be quite reasonable.
I highly recommend using Ms. Shea if you are considering getting your estate affairs in order.

We have been putting off doing our will for sometime, mainly for fear of pricing and not really knowing anything about it! A friend recommended Irina Shea to us so I finally called. I was met with a very nice friendly reception from Samantha, who explained and scheduled our appointment. We received confirmation emails and reminders for appointment. We met with Irina and we were more than happy with the way she explained everything and took the time to really go over everything with us. Pricing was reasonable and took less than 2 months for final paperwork to be done and accurate! We would highly

Irina is knowledgeable and empathetic. She makes the "discomfort" of estate planning and turns it into a positive experience. I felt that she thoroughly understood my feelings and situation and made sound recommendations. Her staff was attentive as well. I would not hesitate to recommend her services.

What a pleasure it was to work with Irina. My mother is 87 years old. Her husband of 70 years died in March. Their will and trust needed to be changed and updated. Irina made the whole process so easy for my mother to understand by way of putting everything on a white board in a way that my mother and I could understand. She relieved my mother of… so much anxiety and stress. She is punctual, very precise and was available to answer any further questions we had. Thanks to Irina and her assistant Samantha what was a difficult and emotional time for my mother was alleviated with her professionalism

Ms. Shea answered all of our questions, and had familiarized herself with the background and all pertinent information when we came for our consultation, so she was able to provide advice and very specific plans of action. We were very impressed. Our business was completed in a timely manner. We are very satisfied and will return to Ms. Shea should we need further legal advice. We highly recommend her and her staff.
