Irina S. Shea is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Business and the Georgetown University Law Center and has been an estate planning attorney since 1996. She is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and New York.

If you're an elder without a spouse or children and you are living on your own, it's even more critical that you have a comprehensive estate plan naming trusted people to take care of you, your health care decisions, your finances, and your estate. You may also be worried about your own incapacity and who would take care of you if you were not able to make decisions on your own.
If you are an elder or an elder married couple with adult children and grandchildren, you want to make sure that your children inherit your assets smoothly and without the burdens of estate administration. You may even want to leave their inheritance in a trust to protect it from divorce, business creditors, and other risks so that you know those funds will eventually reach your grandchildren.
If you're in your forties, fifties, or sixties with young adult children you may be contemplating retirement, downsizing to an apartment, moving to a less expensive state, or helping your children with their first home purchase. Your young adult children may not be financially mature enough to handle a large inheritance so a fair flexible trust for them may make sense.

We have been putting off doing our will for sometime, mainly for fear of pricing and not really knowing anything about it! A friend recommended Irina Shea to us so I finally called. What a pleasure it was to work with Irina. My mother is 87 years old. Her husband of 70 years died in March. Their will and trust needed to be changed and updated. Irina made the whole process so easy for my mother to understand by way of putting everything on a white board in a way that my mother and I could understand.
