Everything is great.... until there's a problem. So...... I've had 2 terrible encounters with Hackettstown Flooring. I won't go into the first issue, since that was 2017...(and I didn't write a review then because one bad experience should not define a company). I went back a second time because they are one of the few distributers of my favorite hardwood flooring companies (Wickham).
On October 5th, I ordered 402 sq. ft. of a Wyckham floor. Time was of the essence, so I explained that I needed the floor installed within the next few weeks. Tracey (manager) said Wickham had my floor in stock and

Will never do business at this place again. Was told I would need padding for 9x12 rug which I bought. Purchased it and when removed old rug padding was fine. Went back to the store to return the padding that was less than $50 and was told him he had to call the owner. Evidently she did not want to hear this and was too busy to talk. I made him call her back and talk to her myself and she did not want to give the money back and said we can't use that which they definitely can. In in the end she said give them back half. Contractor recommended this store for our flooring.
Prices are high. Salespeople don't know the product well enough to recommend or suggest what else we need in addition to the planks we ordered (i.e. underlayment, transition pieces, etc.)
When I tried to return unused product, the guy working there said he didn't know how to process a return and that I would need to come back. I live 35 minutes away. If the staff doesn't know how to process a simple transaction, the question is either why are you even open, or why is he even employed?

We live in Hackettstown and like to support our local businesses. We called for a quote on hardwood flooring. While being asked questions we received some rude sounds like sighs and ugh's. We were told we would be called back to which we waited several days and never received one.
We will never use them or any contractor that uses them. At this point we would rather pay more and have a better customer service experience.

I purchased 900 sqare feet of a Mullican Hardwood floor at $10.00/sq.ft.. The sales rep encourage me to go with the Mullican maple floor because I have two large dogs and she said the maple would stand up to their nails. After one month, my floor looked awful! The finish was coming up everywhere and looked in worse condition than my original oak floors I had before (25 years old). Neither Mullican nor Hackettstown flooring would do anything about it. The owners of Hackettstown flooring basically said that because I didn't have THEIR PEOPLE install the floors, that they were not responsible

I don't usually write reviews but after my incredible experience with Hackettstown Flooring I really wanted to share. Gloria was beyond patient and gracious with me in not only helping me change my order after I realized that my selection would look too dark, but she also helped me select the perfect carpet for my home. Their contract installers John and Greg did an amazing job and were very professional, courteous and respectful. The carpet looks absolutely stunning and I have received so many compliments already.
