Genesis Recovery is a state-licensed, nonprofit, faith-based, 12-step drug and alcohol rehab center and treatment program devoted to restoring the lives of men afflicted with the disease of addiction. Our long-term, highly structured, zero tolerance addiction recovery program fosters individual spiritual growth and lasting recovery from problematic drug and alcohol use through the implementation of our Spiritually Therapeutic Treatment Approach.

Services
Our mission is to help restore the lives of individuals who have been broken by the disease of addiction by implementing a Spiritually Therapeutic Treatment Experience that combines faith-based, 12-step and clinical modalities. We provide individualized services specifically designed to meet our residents wherever they may be in their relationship with drugs and/or alcohol.
Our Spiritually Therapeutic Treatment Approach combines four distinct elements we have found to be imperative to achieve lasting sobriety: faith-nurturing activities, clinical treatment, participation in a 12-step program, and the support of a strong recovery & faith community. At Genesis Recovery, we believe that a spiritual experience is imperative to achieve lasting sobriety and a happy, content, sober life.
To encourage this spiritual experience, we create opportunities for residents to develop and nurture their individual faith experience through our structured Spiritually Therapeutic Treatment Approach.
By exposing residents consistently to spiritually-focused activities, such as prayer and meditation, bible studies, weekly church service and our bonfire meeting, residents develop their own understanding of, and relationship with, a power greater than themselves.Faith-based recovery allows residents to find meaning in their daily lives, and catalyzes their return to a strong, healthy mind and body.

Genesis Recovery provides substance abuse treatment to individuals who desire a new way of life. The program serves 24 medically stable male adults (18 and older) who suffer from the disease of alcohol and drug addiction.
Program goals and objectives of treatment are intended to educate and support an individual through the process of recovery by focusing on the physical, emotional, legal, social and spiritual consequences of alcohol and/or other drug use.Our Christian counselors are licensed and credentialed, and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience when treating individuals from a variety of cultures, backgrounds and addictions.

The foundations of AA/NA and the 12 steps have been effective for many recovering alcoholics and addicts. It would be difficult to find a therapy or style of intervention more frequently credited for recovery than the 12 steps, but if you are new to the steps, it is helpful to know why they are so powerful.

My son went to this place up in the Mountains. He came back an entirely different person. On 2/2/2018 he celebrated a year of being clean and sober. The setting was peaceful and when I visited him, I could feel something special in this place. The whole job of the Genesis community is to love the men who come there broken and shattered from addictions, and they do that and more.
They followed a comprehensive plan that included connection with God, both individual and group therapy and the 12 step program to help show my son how to be a strong man of Christ. He mentioned the food was very good

Genesis is a wonderful facility with an amazing staff. They routinely go above and beyond to help their clients. They provide a family atmosphere with top of the line treatment, including a variety of groups and one-on-one counseling. All of their staff are well educated about addiction and alcoholism and empathetic to the client's situation. I have had several clients who attended Genesis Recovery and they have nothing but positive things to say about their time at Genesis. I would highly recommend to family and friends.

I've seen first hand success story after success story of men's who's lives have done a complete 180 after going through Genesis Recovery. I personally stayed in their sober living house for 1 year and 9 months.
The Christian community and lifestyle that you are immersed by is what makes sobriety possible. The owner Tommy remains highly involved and does this truly out of a God-given calling.

I attended Genesis Recovery's Inpatient program followed by a couple months of outpatient treatment and now I live in one of their sober living houses. I was astounded at how amazing this program was, in my experience there is no comparison with other programs. The staff is very helpful, friendly, u derstanding, and on point with every aspect of recovery. This program offered me much more than just getting clean, it gave me the opportunity to get reconnected with God, a community to help me along in my recovery after treatment, and most importantly it gave me a new chance at life. Tommy and Dennis and the rest of the men who work and run this God Send called Genesis Recovery SD are just incredible , honest, real, brave, faith based God workers! To say we're HUGE fans of Genesis Recovery, it's directors and staff, is a huge understatement! The work that is being done at Genesis Recovery is saving and transforming lives of men of all ages. For someone who is broken and in the grip of addiction (as our son was), there is no better place for them to go. At Genesis they will receive three elements of substance abuse treatment.....it is a faith based, 12 step program that includes clinical treatment as well. Genesis Recovery, saved my son's life. He was tormented with drug addiction that he could not overcome alone. I was not certain this path would work, as my son did not believe in God. Genesis Recovery is the best thing that happened for my son and our family. I have worked in the field of addiction and mental health for over 8 years. Personally I feel Genesis is an asset to the community. Their 90-day program is specialized in treating men and I have had great success with the clients that I have placed there and they have been able to maintain sobriety.
