Aging beyond our golden years sometimes present physical and mental changes that affect us in less than ideal ways. Some seniors develop chronic illnesses such as Alzheimer's disease and Dementia for example. Those health conditions adversely impacts a person's ability to maintain dignity and independence while remaining safe at home.
Acuity Homecare offers chronic care management as an alternative to the status-quo. We provide caregivers who are experienced in caring for clients with advanced medical conditions such as heart failure, COPD, Parkinson's disease, or kidney failure to name a few. Our nurses collaborate with your physician, hospice agency or visiting nurse agency to ensure compliance with your care plans and ensure they remain appropriated for your condition.
Hospice is a great service available to everyone when a physician determines that a person's medical condition has given them a likely prognosis of six months or less of life. There is a common misconception that hospice provides 24 hrs of care once someone goes onto service with a specific agency, unfortunately that is not accurate.

They put “some” of employees under a lot of unnecessary pressure. Scapegoating, guilt tripping, sharing info with other caregivers that result into conflict between caregivers( calling it competition) caregivers not working as a team but against each other! Down play high fall risk cases by convincing caregivers that the cases are easy! Odell personally told me that “ I’d never get any other job better than what they’ve offered me” cornered me because their client was their “friend”. It was all about business. I can honestly say Acuity Homecare is the best health agency that I have worked for. The Bosses are very understanding and care. They go above and beyond to make sure that not only the clients needs are met but also their employees’s needs are met as well. We had a wonderful experience with Acuity! I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an aide for their loved one. The owners are wonderful- patient & communicative with any questions we had. The staff sent to support my grandmother were skilled, kind & compassionate. After my grandmother passed, Aisha (the owner) reached out to me personally to offer her condolences & even sent flowers- very kind and an example of a business that goes above & beyond for their clients! I have been employed by founders of Acuity Homecare Aisha and Odell Gauntlett 3 months ago. Being in this field for 13 years and having worked for several different Homecare agencies, I must say that working for them has been my best experience yet. I can not thank the caregivers enough for the dedication, compassion and attention to details when caring for my mom. They were able to identify signs and symptoms of respiratory difficulties, which enabled them to get in touch with myself and the nurse to assist her. If it wasn’t for their attention to details, the outcome could’ve been much worse.
