Chiropractor in Northwest Houston, Dr. Erica O'Brien began her adventure at Affinity Chiropractic & Wellness in September of 2008, just after Hurricane Ike hit Houston! Due to power outage from the storm, the first two weeks in the office were interesting, to say the least.
O'Brien worked under the direction of Dr. Karen Wilson, the previous owner of Affinity Chiropractic & Wellness, for exactly one year, before assuming responsibility as the practice owner.Dr. Wilson established her practice in 1980, so she was exactly the type of doctor O'Brien wanted to shadow before becoming her own boss.

Hello, my name is Dr. Erica O'Brien. I was first introduced to chiropractic at the age of seventeen, after a 3-year long stint of off-and-on lower back and leg pain. My parents and I had previously explored several other avenues of treatment for my symptoms, with few lasting results or even temporary relief.
We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our judgment and years of experience. After your adjustment, we retest to make sure changes have been produced. Testing afterwards helps us deliver high-quality care and high levels of patient satisfaction.
Laser Therapy is the use of laser energy to create therapeutic effects. Research has shown that these effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation, and decreased swelling. When laser light is absorbed by living tissues, it triggers biological reactions in the cells. Chemical substances are produced, released and carried by blood and lymphatic flow to other parts of the system.

I’ve been going to chiropractors for more than a decade due to a minor back injury. I’ve seen quacks who tried to scare me to death. I’ve seen doctors near retirement and they care but sometimes phone it in. And I’ve seen some that make me leave feeling worse than when I came in. I started bringing my son to see Dr. Thompson at Affinity and seeing her work with him reminded me what I missed in a good chiropractor. Was in need of chiropractic care due to immobility around the holidays. Affinity was taking new patients, they honor my insurance, their rates are very reasonable and after 4 treatments, I am walking and almost pain free. Dr. Heather is generous with teaching about the issues, how to resolve them, stretches and has relieved major issues. Went there on a recommendation from a former neighbor and I am glad I followed through.

Upon my initial visit, I was greeted by a very welcoming staff. After I completed my initial patient paperwork, everything flowed seamlessly. The specialist, Dr. Erica O’Brien, asked a detailed string of information to see why I was here, what was bothering me, and the activities I preform on a regular basis; that could contribute to the discomfort. Once that was done, an X-ray was preformed to check my alignment, and for possible damage.
When it came time for the actual treatment, it was professionally done and I left satisfied. I’ll definitely come back for a follow up. Great facility.

Absolutely the best doctor around! I have been dealing with tendinitis in my foot/leg and after spending months and thousands of dollars dealing with doctors and physical therapy, Dr. O'Brien was able to ease my pain and loosen my muscles.
