After a 5 year apprenticeship with one of the leading floor companies in South East Michigan, Matt opened the doors of his own company. Today he is the proud husband to his wife Lisa and Father to their two children. When not working he enjoys being outdoors, fishing and hobby woodworking.

Installing new hardwood flooring is one of the best home investments you can make. Hardwood floors will last a lifetime. They can be refinished multiple times to either bring them back from use or to change the color and look of the floor. We offer installation of all species of hardwood flooring including Solid, Prefinished, and Engineered wood.
We specialize in sanding and refinishing hardwood floors. Almost any hardwood floor can be refinished and brought back to its original condition. Our sanding process begins with stripping the existing stain and finish and flattening out the entire floor. We sand through progressively higher grits until the floor is as flat and smooth as possible.

I had recently purchased a house and found there was oak hardwood under all the carpets. Unfortunately a few of the rooms were riddled with screws in the floor, most likely to get rid of some minor squeeking. I called Matt, owner of Detroit Hardwood Flooring, and we set a time for him to come out and see if it was worth refinishing. He told me he could bring my floors back up to their old glory and quoted me a price and said it would be a week to finish the job.
