Jensen's Animal Hospital in Petoskey, MI is a full service animal hospital. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your companion animal. Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy animals; early detection and treatment of disease as your companion animal ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime.
Dr. Koehler started at Jensen's in 1973 and began doing mostly large animal and equine work. Over the years he transitioned to small animal surgery and orthopedics. He is now primarily a small animal practitioner and skilled in anterior cruciate ligament repairs, fracture repairs and other orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.

My family has been using Jensen's for years. Dr. Michelin has been taking care of my horses for over 20 years and has always been great. She is always ready to answer the kids' questions and the adults. She is truly wonderful. Two weeks ago we got a new puppy who had health issues so we didn't hesitate to make the drive to Petoskey.

My only hesitation in recommending Jensen's is the incredibly expensive cost of veterinary care, which is par for this region. When I have shopped around for routine veterinary care Pellston animal clinic, LTBHS Vet clinic and vet clinics in Cheboygan, Indian River area are much lower. That may have to do with the year around demographics, income and property tax value of those areas vs the Petoskey, Bay Harbor , Charlevoix demographics and real estate, tax value. For working class and low-income families tiered pricing could be an option at your clinic. Perhaps you could price your services on

My dog had to have surgery and I appreciated how much professionalism and empathy the staff showed. Even though I received a call after the surgery letting me know the details of how the surgery went, I received a text that evening updating me on how he was doing.

One of the best vets I have ever been to in the state of Michigan. I've have been to numerous vets in the state and by far Jensen's Animal hospital is the best! They really give the best treatment and are really good at communicating with you every step of the way. Thank you guys so much for everything you did for my Duke!

Our calf was having breathing issues which we were unable to resolve on our own. We were turned down by local clinics who were unable to accept new clients. Bubby got pretty weak on a Thursday evening. We phoned Jensen's early Friday and were able to have him seen by 1:30 PM. He received antibiotic and anti inflammatory injections, to which he has responded very well. Our family is absolutely impressed by Jensen's Animal Hospital !

Our family has used Jensen's Animal Hospital since 1973 with lots and lots of various pets over the decades. They have always been awesome, or we wouldn't have had this super long relationship. Always loved Dr. Larry and now we love Dr. Kara, and so do our furry family members!

The entire team provides excellent family service. Dr. Henning treats you as a family member. She explains the entire process while hugging our babies (German Shepherds). She takes the time to get to know them and love them up. She listens to our concerns and thoughts about what is happening. She provides support for our anxiety and offers options. She's a wonderful person. The staff are always willing to help you and make you feel like your a special person not just a client. I have nothing but praise for all the people at Jensen's Animal Hospital. Thanks for being special!
