My freelance career started in 2009 by taking as many classes locally and in LA as I could find, after educating myself and working for MAC Cosmetics. I spent over 4 years refining my skills and broadening my makeup experiences until my clientele grew so much I could solely work for myself.

Kandice not only is an excellent, meticulous makeup artist but she has one of the most beautiful souls. She is a very kind hearted, patient, hard working gal that you definitely want to trust on any occasion but especially on your wedding day. She is reliable, always comes early to set up, very professional and has a solution for every problem- when it comes to your making you look beautiful. I don't like to wear a lot of makeup and she listens to that but still made me look flawless without feeling like I had a ton of makeup on my face- also her nose contouring, chefs kiss guys. Kandice did an absolutely amazing job on the makeup for myself, my mother, and my 4 bridesmaids. Beyond doing fantastic work on our makeup she was one of the kindest and most prepared professionals I worked with for the wedding. For example I wanted a drink but just put lipstick on and had no straw - she had straws; I needed to cut something and had no scissors - she had scissors; I was a little stressed (because who isn't on their wedding day) - she had peppermint oil. I needed a makeup artist for family pictures and searched Instagram for makeup artists in San Diego. After looking at several different artists I reached out to Kandice and I could not have been more pleased with her. Her work was amazing and my makeup lasted all day. Kandice has been my makeup artist for several events. She's customized my look for weddings, birthdays and other special occasions. Prior to going to Kandice I would normally dislike my makeup from other artists and end up being disappointed through out the day. When I first got my makeup done by kandice I told her my inspiration and she got the look down with no mistakes which is incredible as I'm extremely picky. I've been going to kandice for my makeup for close to 10 years now. I've used her for most of my photoshoots as well as personal occasions. Kandice is very sweet, professional, timely, CLEAN, and organized. She takes the time to listen to what look I'm going for and make sure it's executed how I envisioned. The makeup also lasts, sometimes I have multiple photoshoots a day, even some where it's against conditions like heat or moisture and it still stays perfectly. Make sure you book her in advanced because she books up very quick.

Not the best. I was a bridesmaid for this artist months back and I truly didn't like my eyeshadow. I feel like Kandice does the same style on everyone. I'm not a fan of the wing she does. I'm from Pasadena and I usually spend much more on my artists that do excellent job. Kandice did my makeup in 30 minutes and I wasn't too happy about it, I take my makeup game seriously and I would rather pay more for extra time and well thought out makeup. Obviously, my best friend/ bride picked her but personally think her set up is better than her actual work on people.

Picking a make-up artist was one of the most important details to me for our special day! I received a referral for Kandice through one of my girlfriends who had used her on her wedding day! I had my trial for our engagement shoot and was blown away at how great it looked not only in person, but in photos! She is sweet, detail oriented and you can tell she has a passion for making her clients feel their best! Kandice arrived early, super speedy and made everyone feel at ease. Honestly I am THRILLED that I was able to get Kandice for my wedding. We planned it in five months and I was worried I wouldn't get someone good. I hit the jackpot finding Kandice and, with my Thursday wedding, she was able to fit me in and I'm sooo happy. She is an ARTIST in every sense of the word. I'm originally from Los Angeles and used to having around 1000 available makeup artists that can do a decent job at any given point. I recently moved to San Diego and needed my makeup done for my cousins' wedding and decided I needed to do some research on Yelp/Instagram before trusting anyone.
And let me tell you, there are plenty makeup artists in San Diego but everyone has their own style. Most of the ones I found here seemed to lean towards natural/light makeup which washes out in photos, so it was a tough search.

Kandice has done my makeup on 3 separate occasions and each one surpassed my expectations, but on my wedding day she truly blew me away. It was better than I had ever hoped for. So, this review is WAY overdue but SO necessary. I got married a few months ago and was nervous about finding the perfect makeup artist. The perfectionist that I am stalked almost every makeup artist from San Diego to Los Angeles for over a year. I was convinced I made the right decision by hiring Kandice within seconds of meeting her during my makeup trial. Whatever you need your makeup done for, look no more! Kandice was seriously SO great to work with! Not only was she great to work with but she is so uber talented behind that makeup brush! Kandice did my makeup for my bridal shower and my wedding and I couldn't have asked for better looks.
Also, all my bridesmaids, my mom and my MIL loved their makeup and sometimes that's hard to get everyone to all be in love with their looks. She is also super sweet and easy to talk to. I honestly can't say enough great things about Kandice, she is absolutely amazing! She did makeup for my wedding last November 2017 and I couldn't have been happier with everything. She is incredibly professional, talented, sweet, and stunning!
She was scheduled to do 8 people that morning and we added a 9th last minute and she still finished about a half and hour before she was supposed to be done/we had to leave. She played a huge role in my wedding morning completely stress free which I am so thankful for. Everyone was thrilled with how their makeup turned out too.

I had my makeup done for my sister's wedding. Kandice was very prompt (she also did two trials for the bride), very professional and super sweet. Her demeanor is very gentle and calming.
I loved my make up! I don't wear a lot of make up day to day but don't mind getting glammed up for special events.
