Cohen Brothers Training Centers is a true family business, with multiple generations of the Cohen family working together to bring their love of martial arts to the Vernon Hills area. Services
At Cohen Brothers Training Centers, judo is our passion. Our family has a long tradition of training and perfecting this noble martial art, which debuted in Japan in the late 1800s. Inour judo classes, which are offered for students of all ages, we strive to impart not only our knowledge of the judo's technical execution, but also the philosophy behind it.
The coaches at Cohen Brothers Training Centers are one of the few area gyms to offer olympic wrestling in Vernon Hills and surrounding areas. We believe that wrestling is a superior workout as well as a beneficial discipline for all athletes, from the very young to the very advanced. Our wrestling training classes will improve your skills and rank, with effective specialized coaching that can be tailored to each athlete.
Cohen Brothers has a well-deserved international reputation for adhering to the highest ethical standards for jiu-jitsu training. These standards are enforced in every single jiu-jitsu class we teach. Due to the popularity of several forms of jiu-jitsu in the MMA Universe and the demand from MMA fighters, Cohen Brothers now offers jiu-jitsu training for novice to advanced athletes.
If you sat in during a special needs Judo lesson you would see kids and adults diagnosed with ADD / HDD and similar conditions, calmly focusing and learning. You'd also see those afflicted with autism and/or related conditions, completing a throw to their surprised satisfaction and those with other challenges attaining success at something visceral and compelling.
At Cohen Brothers it begins with Irwin Cohen. The coaching philosophy and methodologies he developed over decades as a competitor and coach, and which he and Steve handed directly to Aaron and RJ, is followed by everyone at Cohen Brothers. The lessons taught on the mat and the work ethic, fitness and healthy habits we instill, serve our students well throughout their entire lives, Irwin and Steve Cohen set the mold from our club's inception.

This is one of the top judo clubs in the country. if you want your kids to learn discipline, work ethic, get stronger and more fit.... look no further.

WOW! For Judo this is THE PLACE to go! They also have classes in Evanston. The coaches are all internationally ranked and two were olympians. The "warm up" is more intense then many work outs I've tried. The teaching is excellent and the class is diverse as heck, some as young as 13 others as old as me er . . . lets say 49. Kids classes were earlier so I didn't see them, but I saw lots of little kids goofing around so I assume they like the classes. Lots of folks here are internationally ranked -- but they are also very nice and don't care about your skill level or what belt you have (unless it
